Tone of the movie was pretty fucking similar to the same comic book on going at that time focused on Scott Lang, and before the reboot that comic was pretty fun for what it was.
Post reboot it kinda went in circles.

Yeah it's an issue, especially considering the whole Pym particle thing comes off as even more nonsensical than in comics.
Would be less of an issue if the dialogue scenes (which include all that exposition) weren't cut with a hatchet.
Honestly these days I sort of turn my ears off when characters in big Hollywood movies start to go on a tirade, whether it's expositional or some grandiloquent moral shtick. Sure I miss some plot points but at least I don't lose brain cells over how terribly artificial they sound.
This movie did some fun stuff but people overlook all the bad in it for reasons unknown. And no, it's not just because it's Marvel.
