However that's retarded because a) there is no motive force to explain his powers of flight/ staying still when he hits something using his super strength, and b) physics is so broken in literally every action scene it's retarded to try and keep this in to "ground" the movie in "reality". Therefore it's likely just an excuse to show more particle effects because they really fill for time and they're exciting.
Also, all of those people watching that building fall? Dead. Literally all of them are going to be caught first by the shockwave (as is anybody even near Zod and Superman as they fight) then by the debris. At that distance it's going to shred and choke them - those who aren't killed by fist-sized chunks of concrete and foot-long toughened glass shards flying into them will begin to bleed out and will be dead from the number and severity of likely injuries within 30 minutes, without treatment. There isn't enough blood in any city's bloodbanks to save them all.
The rest will simply choke to death or stumble into obstacles obscured by the debris clouds and be killed.

As much as people criticized MoS for its shaky cam, at the very least the fight scenes were shot with much longer takes in general.
The shot doesn't cut with the connection of every strike. You actually get to see the wind ups, connections, and the follow throughs in singular takes.
As opposed to most modern action movies, BvS included, where most action scenes are just cut, cut, cut, cut and face shot, cut, cut, cut.

Strucker wanted to hide the fact that he was working with an AI (Ultron in his early stage) from The Avengers which is why he said if he surrendered then maybe the Avengers wouldn't look too closely. Tony even says that Strucker's work was way beyond anything he should have been able to do and that he thought he was "knocking a particular door", which Banner replied with "AI?" That's why Tony looked at the gem and found Ultron.
It's also why Ultron goes to kill Strucker, the only person on Earth who knows anything about him.

Strucker and Ultron's research was geared towards creating the next step in human evolution. People with powers, advanced cybernetics, etc. The Avengers put a stop to it. He saw them as an impediment to their progress. Ultron develops a God complex during the film. There're lots of fun stories with Zeus and his various antics.
He's never really malevolent, people just get in the way of what he wants.
My personal favourite is the fathering/mothering of Dionysus.
Zeus takes on the appearance of a man and comes to the cursed city of Thebes.
He finds a daughter of the line of Cadmus and seduces her.
Hera being somewhat pissed about her husband's infidelity, comes down to the Earth in the disguise of an old woman in the entourage of the young woman whom Zeus had seduced (and impregnated).
Hera tells the girl that her new boyfriend is Zeus. The girl is like "Whoaa, no way", and so Hera tells her to make him swear on the river Styx for him to show her his true form.
So when the girl and the disguised Zeus are alone together later, she asks him to promise him something. Zeus says "Sure, baby, whatever".
She insists that he swears on the river Styx and Zeus is again "Yeah, whatever, babe", presumably smoking a cigarette in bed.
And then she asks him to reveal his true form.
Zeus is suddenly distraught because a god cannot break an oath on the river Styx.
So he reluctantly reveals his true godhead, and she is burnt to death in the presence of his heavenly glory.
However, he is able to rescue her fetus from the smouldering corpse and sew the prebaby into his thigh, where it comes to turn and is born as the god Dionysus.
What happens to him is another story.

On the Parthenon, it is Hephaestos, but different legends say different things.
Like one version has Hephaestos birthed from Hera parthenogenetically because she was jealous of Zeus' seeming theft of the feminine power of birth.

The craftsmen of Athens worshipped Athena Nike because it was a city(and region)-wide cult while others(Rhodos I believe) worshipped Hermes. Deities became part of the cultural identifier of a city/region so they lost much of their initial qualities in lieu of new contemporary ones. Athena became a goddess of war. Ares became an agrarian God(the Romans especially did this, since land owners were the common soldiery of the pre-Marius Republic). Hera became goddess of wisdom. Poseidon was also given both martial and wise attributes.

With regards to this particular myth, I'd be even more hesitant.
Zeus is a very difficult god to talk about having ultimate origins.
He is partly the Skyfather all Indo-European religions have (pre-Greek Jupiter, German Tyr, Celtic Taranus) and he is partly pre-Indo European native god to the Aegean region.
Zeus was born on Crete, whose civilization predates that of the people we call the Greeks.
Furthermore, he is sometimes shown with association of the Labrys, the double sided axe seen in the unknown Minoan religion.
One pot shows Hephaestos splitting Zeus' head with the Labrys instead of a mallet. That's definitely some old shit going on there.

According to legend yes. It may just be a metaphor for the fact that Mycenae imported more than bronze and pottery from the Minoans though, especially after they conquered Crete. If I'd have to guess, I'd suspect the Minoan religion was definitely related to that of the Homeric legends of the 1st millenium BC, probably most of myths are that old and perhaps even older. I know that the myth of The Wild Hunt is probably 4-5k years old so it is not unreasonable to believe Minoans, while having more of a bull-theme to their religion(like the Celts in Iberia) were very much classical greek-like in their belief system.
