Actually there's more to that with it being MBD(Metabolic Bone Disease) caused by a shitty diet because idiots seem to think they can feed opossums just anything(like a strict diet of catfood). Flora octopi do have a infiltration theme going on with how Poda can mimic Kit, the monk, and that guard. The Scepter or whatever that hand thing definitely seems to be parasitic. We saw it clinging to that dragons and it, not the dragon was the one talking to Poppy. It kinda reminded me of that one parasite that takes over a fish's tongue. It mention that Poppy's heart beat was strong and its radius vast, and that her heart would be perfect for something. I definitely think the scepter tries to take over the strongest things it can find.

Poppy has been described as sort of a klutz. She's not an idiot, be she can be pretty naive. As for formal education I would say she might of attended some sort of early education back in Trench however due to the changing political climate and the nature of an opossums life (short life span) I think she would of probably dropped out of school around 12 or so. Her plan for life before the political shit happened was basically raise Lily with her cat family. Didn't really plan on having a need for formal education, especially when her talent is being super strong.
Not that we know of. She's a good housekeeper and can make great pies and lifts stuff. As for mining the only info we have was she was hired to clear out rocks for some kind of mine/construction project.
She is a terrible sprinter. However if she needs to get somewhere quickly she instead jumps. She managed to get from Chicadino's house near the top of canopy to Eggton which is quite a ways away in just a dozen or so hops.

With Petunia we only know she is amazing at martial arts. Magic, with perhaps the exception of her death glare, isn't something she is particularly skilled with. Especially since Morbi said that to even summon fire or ice or do any basic magical attacks you need to spend a long time studying magic.
Mary also ain't that great at magic. Hell I think Morbi said she's basically one step above an Opossum. However she does have a keyhole in the back of her head and we did see Poda snatch a key back in the castle. Chances are Mary might have something unlocked within her at one point.

I don't think Poppy is gonna fight the wife of the ex High King. Here's what I think is gonna happen. Kit is gonna meet up with Renard and her stepmother. There we're gonna see why Kit was dreading seeing them. I'm guessing that her stepmother is gonna berate her or something like that. I think Poppy is gonna witness this. Kit might forget something at the table or she might have a question about her position and she's gonna walk into Kit sobbing on the floor and she's gonna see past her usual smiling, friendly perky face and see that she's not doing so well. Kit will ask her to leave since there's not much Poppy can do but Poppy might speak up in Kit's defense. Throw in the stepmom being racist towards Poppy, Kit defending Poppy, etc and you get a drama filled scene that will count as the last part of the chapter.
