Yeah the ads kept playing up the scenes of Buttercup being mad at Manboy because he called her princess but most of the episode dealt with her going to anger management because she destroyed most of the hippie fair.

It wasn't as bad as TTGO, I liked some of the designs of the monsters in ep 3. But yeah no, it has little to none of the charm of the original, the girls look awkward, the violence is severely toned down and the animation and soundtrack is subpar most of the time. I'd argue that it's a good show, just nothing too grand like people are wanting, nor as great as the original often was, but it's not really fair to expect it to be the same exact thing.
From the three episodes I saw: It can be funny, it can be cute, it can have compelling action, and it can even have those obligatory lessons for the kid watching. Of course it's never going to be for everyone: The humor may not be for you, different definitions of cuteness, action may still not be enough, and the lessons may be "cringeworthy", but on some part I wouldn't fault that entirely on the show.

What made the original PPG so popular was that it had something that appealed to everyone - no bullshit hardhitting action, big monsters and destruction, kids being kids, adult humor and references you can appreciate later, good lessons for both kids and parents.
