Keep in mind also that the Batman seen there is Batman as imagined by some 10 year old kid with a childish sense of humor, so it makes sense his behavior would be rather lowest common denominator.

I tried watching this movie twice, I made it to the western part the first go, then made it to the part where they're lost at sea on the double decker couch. I don't really see what everyone loves about this movie apart from the animation.

Personally I can respect it for that, but... I didn't care for it for that same reason...TFW had a bad Childhood. TFW reminded of it when watching Lego Movie...

Yeah you can tell the people who did the lego movies and games don't really have this immense love for Batman and basically just parody every aspect of his character.

If a movie makes you feel things and makes you reexamine your life in some way then it is probably a good movie. The fact that you had a negative emotional reaction when watching it sucks, but the fact that you felt anything at all shows that you were invested in the film on some level.
I remember when /co/ was over for this movie and i got all hyped up, and went to see it myself. I throught that it was... Ok. Animation was gorgeous, but i didn't get invested in it somehow. Didn't really care about the characters and that twist... I dunno, maybe i was in wrong mind set or something, or i'm just cynical bastard.
