Well this batch was a very very interesting and very emotional episodes.
Well to start off, Rose seems to be very close to Lion considering he has her personal room inside her mane. Amethyst is apparently part of something bigger with a huge plot involving space gems who from the sound of it, come to different planets and use them up for resources or such?
Steven's powers seem to be getting more and more complicated since he can now fuse with Connie for some reason.
Also a new Gem is reviled (Patridot i think is her name) who seems to be part of the space gems.
Anyway really fucking great batch of episodes and really touched me in a way. Can't wait to go through 41-50 tomorrow.

Oh yea man, i'm doing a almost daily thing were i watch a nice batch of episodes and i make a post here to let people know i feel about them.
Overall the show is very good in quality in almost all directions.
The characters are enjoyable, the story is interesting, and most importantly the filler episodes are fun because they have to do with Steven's powers or the gems or Steven's overall progress, which i love because that means that the filler is not pointless but rather important with the connection to the characters.
Which is why even episodes like Garnet's Universe is pretty cool for me because in reality its just Stevens affection shown throughout the episode for garnet which i find really sweet and charming.
The clash in personalities with he gems is also a nice touch as all 3 gems both love and hate each other over different things. Like how Garnet can be very protective but rather blunt, Amethyst can be outgoing but rather childish, and Pearl can be very wise but rather to restrictive and in her own head,
Overall, love the show, can't wait to watch more of it tomorrow.

It's not filler. It's episodes not primarily relevant to the main plot.
They are not like stuff they shoved in to fluff out a season, but episodes they spend doing themes they wanted to do or hammer out relationships and characters and by the end of it we are not going another direction, but aren't left with the status quo, either.
Because everything Steven learns is a stepping stone on his way to becoming the leader the Gems desperately need.
And some anons act like Steven doesn't really change, which is patently untrue. He is still a kid, yes. But he has shown more leadership, courage and good judgement than any other character on the show already.

It's considered a normal episode, it's just non canon. I'm not sure where it is located in episode order though, since it's near the final 5 of season 1, but they aired 5 or so less plot-heavy episodes that came earlier in season 1 after the finale in anticipation of season 2.

Right i can tell because each crystal gem seems to have a specific role, like Garnet being the Brute force/"future" sight of the squad and Pearl being the most knowledgeable and "proper" as well as Rose being a Healer and "bubbler" from what i can tell.
Plus you can easier tell when pearl is having a fit when she is found to be in the wrong but wants to be in the right all the time.
