The original PPG was probably Cartoon Network's ugliest show of the 90s, and that's saying a lot. The backgrounds were great but character design and animation, across the board, was garbage.

You obviously like cn shows idk what but for the sake of argument lets say otgw without teen titans go making cn those big bucks they might not stay funded and wouldnt be able to air more artsy shit as far as one show not funding good shows you gotta be kidding we all know toy and merch sales fund cartoons they have forever but we still get to see higher quality toons because theres some market for more mature story driven shows But unless you start buying alot of otgw toys and alot of others do the same toy selling and merch selling toons will be a nescessity even if they are lower quality

The show they are giving us IS the Powerpuff Girls, there will be jokes and fights and simple plots, hopefully toys and on demand video will be sold; all I'm asking for is a marginal increase in the standard of animation, for quality not to be sacrificed in the name of the bottom line.

I guess I'll cross my fingers and hope that it's just the pilot, but the background characters, and to a lesser extent, the primary cast, just look cheap. The way they are drawn, and the way they move (or don't move) just scream least possible effort. I actually dig the backgrounds and set pieces, but the people stick out like an early 2000s newgrounds animation.
