Remember when Mega Man sprite comics were all the rage?
>>
>>80486244
it's so weird to think that that was a replacement for a drawn comic. and the drawn comic sucked. it's kinda like how nobody gives a fuck about the tracy ullman show
>>
Hey does anyone remember those sprite comics on NMR before MSN groups as a whole were shut down?

Man, those were the days.
>>
>>80486173
This comic started out promising, then Largo left. Piro just couldn't stop with his sad girls in the rain.

>>80486244
Forget Mega Man, 8-bit theatre was great.
>>
>>80487796
It had one of the liveliest forums on the Web back in the day, though. Good times.

ian j. has gone on to be a very successful professional

>>
>>80486607
And how the author thought he could make a drawn comic despite having almost zero drawing experience, only realizing his drawing sucked right before the actual strips went up.
>>
>>80487796
Megatoyo was never good, if Piro and Largo never split up it would have just faded into a different kind of obscurity.
>>
>>80488309
it truly was a different time.
i actually started a comic as a way to get myself to draw every day even under time constraints. pretty sure it's had the opposite effect, but it taught me a lot about comedy writing
>>
>>80488363

To be fair, the only reason it faded in the first place was because Fred stopped updating at all for the most part.
>>
>>80488363
this is the kind of dumbass shit /co/ would say, yeah. because largo's fantastic comedy style has become passe in the minds of a lot of people. sad, joyless people.
>>
>>80487796
>>80488363
Megatokyo was riding the whole anime/weeaboo boom, in the early 2000s. Once the fad faded, so did the comic.
>>
>>80488658
Nah, it only really fell in to weeb trash when Largo left. Before that it was just nerd shit with a slight weeb twist. They stole fucking boo from baldurs gate for god's sake.
>>
>>80488837
you're telling me a game called baldur's gate had a winged hamster angel?

For a comic with really shitty art, I loved 1/0.

man this takes me back

looks like it will never be finished. Also his art style hasn't changed in 10 years... not sure if that's good or bad. And his wife went into a coma? wtf happened?
>>
>>80488837
>>80488857
If anything it was riding the geek webcomic boom with other comics like PvP, Penny Arcade, Ctrl Alt Del, etc.

I get some people never liked it, but those who did agree Largo leaving (which was really early on) was when it went full weebtard.

Does anyone read Outsider? He updated like a month ago.
>>
>>80490171
I guess not.

On that note did anyone else read Mac Hall? My friends and I only once managed to play a round of Australian Indoor Rules Quidditch.
>>
>>80488189
Not too surprising I mean the guy has talent shame the way he ended RPG world.
>>
>>80490631
Mac hall was great even had a good ending. Which is weird when you think about it since it was never a story based webcomic.
>>
>>80489375
What are you on about? Errant Story finished back in 2012.
>>
>>80490909
oh? alright guess I was wrong as I had assumed the story was still going
>>
>>80490171
nice art. what's it about?
>>
So...WHO REMEMBERS PSYGUY?
>>
>>80491200
It's hilarious how badly his entire world imploded in such a short amount of time. Just goes to show that beta's should never be allowed power.
>>
>>80490795
Never read the ending, but I'm glad. Found out it was over some years later when I met the creator in his booth at a con. I bought something from him, but I can't remember what anymore.
>>
>>80490978
A human diplomat gets trapped between two warring nations when his ship is attacked by an unknown assailant. He awakens aboard a female space elf ship and is trying to figure things out.

Its actually pretty interesting but it updates at glacial pace, there have only been 111 pages over 14 years.
>>
>>80490978
Space elves are at war with space bugs. Humans are just beginning to venture into space and are about to get caught in the crossfire so they attempt to establish contact with one of the sides. One of the ships attempting to do so gets destroyed by an unknown attacker and the lone survivor gets picked up by the space elves who are also telepaths and have a 9:1 female-male birth ratio. Naturally culture clashes, intrigue, and waifus abound. The author is slow as fuck about updating but has a a ridiculous amount of supplementary material and world building on the site.
>>
>>80486173
I'm genuinely disgusted and disappointed in Piro.

But I've moved on.

Not worth my time remembering, and not even worth my hate.
>>
>>80491269
yeah this decade is the decade of lives being ruined by the slightest accusations for sure.
>>
>>80491975
neat
>>
>>80491200
Is he dead yet?
>>
>>80491200
truly every day WAS a fine day with the Dooshabagel.
>>
>>80491324
The one guy packs up his things while quoting the bible about becoming a man and packing away your childish things only to say he unpacked them when he moved in to his new place.
>>
>>80492543
man people really love to misinterpret the fuck out of that one.
>>
>>80490631
>Mac Hall
Look up 3 Panel Soul.
>>
>>80491975

Sounds like the anime Crest of the Stars.

I really miss Ow My Sanity.

The Lovecraft mythos as a romance story shouldn't work as well as it did.
