They're funny and they bring real, logical points to the table (Superman's destruction in MoS, for example) BUT, they're really not into capeshit or any other sort of commercial movies. and that's ok, it's not for everyone and it's more the fault of those who take their opinions to heart, really.

The thing with Watchmen is that in a vacuum, it's a debatably okay movie with a lot of positive qualities in the style and musical choices. It was quite unique in its time. The ultimate cut with the black freighter stuff makes it even better, pacing and tone wise, albeit super damn long.
It's just that it's still a dick up the ass of the book.
