In all honesty it's one of the features of Janna I wouldn't mind debunking in season 2, I quite like the idea of Janna just taking a fancy to Marco, coming into adolescence. I'm still hoping for magical clothing of some kind to act as somewhat of a poweup. Or instead of an offensive powerup as such, more of a defensive one. Perhaps it could ward of magic or physical blows, given that Star has the ability to both dodge attacks like that and use her wand to conjure up some defense. Whilst Marco can only really dodge or tank it and there's a limit to what is feasibly tankable for a human.
Really it'd be a nice potential feature of an episode, have the two of them go for a magical adventure and come away with some physical reward for their troubles that allows them to do bigger and bolder things going forward.
There could be a message in there about the importance of balancing effort and equipment to achieve ones goals.

We have had weekend threads pretty much since the hiatus started, at the start was simply enfored by us but overtime the mods also stepped in and delete any thread made during weekdays.

Thanks for the consideration, Anon, but I guess sometimes it becomes mainly a subject of writing style: Kamen Writer goes for a very "compressed", fast style of writing (IMHO), very appropriate to action-oriented and quick stories.
On the other end of the spectrum, WriteFriend writing is very decompressed, and there's more space for details and mood description.
I'm kind of in the middle, sorta, with a personal inclination for the "late in, early out" setup of scenes, and an over-abundance of original creations.
I won't even pretend my stuff is for everyone, and I actually welcome such variety of writing styles, and content in general.

Well I think there has to be a balance of both, relative to the strengths of the author of course. With your works you always deliver in three major ways, world building (descriptive), interactions between characters and the emotions involvedwithout just describing said emotions(emotive) and a solid plot which persists through the story your writing (basic structure). Those three elements in tandem are vital to a good story in any medium, and as such learning to write in such a way that does incorporate them all should be the goal of those with a talent for writing, in whatever form it takes.
Sure, your work isn't perfect but I don't think any written work is really. But at the least, in the context of fan works for the show, your stories always provide a good example. To me, the series uses the term "dimension" improperly.
What the characters do is travel to different "universes", or at most, "planes of existence" — like in the "Time dimension".
I don't actually see the possibility of alternate reality, because otherwise, what happens if Stars from different realities open a portal to a specific place: do they BOTH get there, and meet?!
So it's less quantum mechanics, and more "let's go somewhere fun".

I think there's elements of this show that just aren't meant to be put under the microscope. After all, if I'm not wrong, the original pitch for the series did NOT involve actual magic at all!
But yeah, if alternate realities existed in the show, and a dimensional scissor were sufficient to reach them, it would lead to utter chaos: different Stars And Marcos would cross paths all the time, they would end up in alternate Earths without even realizing it at first, there'd be several versions of the Ludo's army coming and going — some of them efficient and successful!

That chapter was fantastic Write Anon, I think a story that intergrates additional characters into the magical adventures of Marco and Star so genuinely are few and far between, but yours has definitely added another to the pile that does.

Considering their solution to the crisis in front of them would only ever be the magic WMD that Star carries with her, it was interesting to see what limitations you would impose to ensure a threat still remained. You also handled Ludo and his lot to great effectAs for any suggestions, I suppose for the sotry as a whole it'd be great to see them discuss their whole setup, given how odd a 3 way relationship is likely to be. That can be done before or after the act itself, given the setup of choice for your lewd scenes; perhaps a spur of the victory type romp or a more meaningful relationship starting sexcapade.
Outside of that more story structure related suggestion. I'd say just focus on the exploratory nature for Jackie, both with Marco and with Star being a girl and all. Then for Star and Marco they've had experience with each other so it's building off of that, with the requited feelings now added in.
But take of that what you will, it's your story obviously and it's been amazing so far, so whatever you choose to write I'll be eagerly awaiting.

A flawed character, dependent on others to keep his wild emotions in check; passion and ambition find their place in the young man, but due to his shortcomings they commonly fail to shine through as intended.
Oskar: An artistic soul, highly introverted but teamed with no shortcomings in having people interact with him, he just ignores them. This has resulted in problems at home due to changes deemed unwelcome, escape from this is found in self-reflection and musicno matter how terrible it may be.

>>79494101Man, being open when that sort of thing happens can be a god send. People will almost always want to understand or help, but if they're not sure what the deal is then everyone involved ends up feeling bad.
That and finding a meditative behaviour that helps,for me in the past when my anxiety was much worse I also focused entirely on my breathing, sticking to a 3 in 4 out little routine. A minute or two of that and I was usually functional enough for rationality to return. Still, you do what works for you man, many people suffer in similar ways and it does get better with small routine changes.

Perhaps a compromise could be had in terms of Star's presence. She could be semi-present or even the exchange student of someone else at the school?
I just enjoyed the setup of Tom and Marco and their little adventure, perhaps due to it's obviously more masculine tone. As good a job as Star vs. does in terms of showing a solid male/female best friendship, there's a natural smoothness to same sex interactions as friends.

Initially I did as well, much like I initially disliked Star early on in the show. But given some time and a re-watch later, I rather appreciate his design and what we know of his back story. When a character legitimately tries to do something, even if the reasoning behind it isn't the best, it's rather endearing. Add on to that just how poorly it ended for the guy, I really hope he does get the redemption thing going for him, would certainly help the popularity of the show if he was like a semi-present character going forward.
That and his whole demon motive allows for a different kind of magic to be developed, who can say no to cotton candy explosions teamed with fiery meteor rain?

This is kinda cheating, from me, because it's stuff I didn't put explicitly in the story because of various reasons:We don't see the first dream where Marco is trapped into: it was a normal dream of Jackie, and once Star calls her (waking her up), Marco forget most of the stuff, and ends up in the classroom with dream-Star. That's technically the same dreamworld, but there is no real "dreamer", and Star gets aware of what's going on, and takes advantage of it: the dream goes on for a while, then Jackie gets plugged in by Star's apparatus, and gets asleep again.
Jackie doesn't start immediately dreaming (it happens) but the dreamworld swithces again: fake-Star loses Marco (who feels like shit, and so the dreamworld turns into a marshland), but REAL-Star finds him quickly. Then, Jackie starts dreaming, and the beach is how her dream starts.
From then on, it's all Jackie's subconscious taking the reins: dream-Star is intruding in a dream she shouldn't be part of, so she has to somehow "cheat the system", and is thus forced in cute animal forms.
The desert is indeed part of Jackie's dream — and the trail Marco follows to get out of it is a breadcrumb trail that Jackie subconsciously uses to help Marco get to her.

The first corridor is quite plain, and the interest is low: Jackie likes the outdoors and wold like to travel, but that's nothing too serious.
Giant mirror: she's more than a little vain.
Parlors — empty: she loves company, and hates being alone (after seeing the empty rooms, she becomes a little depressed).
The pink door/giant cobra:I'm a gentleman, so I won't talk in detail about the subject.
The statues: Jackie had a little crush for Marco — but as of that point in the story, nothing too deep: and that's why the statues are OUTSIDE the emerald portal.
The secret passage: Jackie actually willed it into existence, but it ended up conveying her claustrophobia.
The emerald portal delimits the area that's really intimate and personal, and the two armors that guard it are her natural desire to protect her secrets.
The music store is both a representation of the real place, and a memento of the feelings she had when staying there in the real life.
Beyound the doors, there are other rooms that I didn't decribe. About the bedroom, I have actually never decided if it was Jackie's or if it belonged to one of her friends (Janna or Hope): anyway, it was the room where she had spent most time playing when she was a little kid (but the closet was small, and kinda scary…).
Another note: once Jackie controls the statues, get to get past the emerald door: sure, that was incidental, but it can also be seen as symbolic…

I think Tom's dimension will likely be explored a bit if he's set to reappear, like the short snipped in the intro when he appears.
Demon life spans are always an interesting facet of their design, a lot of potential bad ends if they are very long living as you showed.
