So after watching the most recent episode I went to tend my laundry and found a single penny sitting on top of the dryer I picked.
(spoilr'd for safety, no idea if it's okay to normally discuss)Anyways, why are people mourning her as though she's dead, are we assuming pyrrha's magnetism fried her internal components?
I'm not so certain that's a valid assumption because I'm pretty sure faraday cages apply to quickly varying magnetic fields (i.e. magnetism powers) and they're pretty basic technology.
With the assumption that penny's innards were shielded against magnetic influences, the 'death' in question is reduced to simple dismemberment, which is likely a very expensive but very nonlethal injury given that no analogue to blood was seen.

It really depends, she'll be sidelined due to this injury and depending on how her soul works we might get a Dr. Who style rebirth where "new" Penny has all the memories but none of the emotional attachments, she might even outright reject them to establish herself as a different person. >>79084304This is more down the alley of semblances than weapons, but I've vaguely entertained the idea of a dude/ette with two arm-mounted shields (smallish, so more like bucklers) whose semblance is like the schnee's glyphs, but can only make physical constructs rather than manipulating dust or casting spells. So for weapons the character just writes a weapon of their choosing with glyphs. If it sounds overpowered, the catch is that they train with too many weapons and are thus unskilled with any and every weapon they would write for themselves.

You remind me of the kishock gun from ME3. my buddy and I had a few good nicknames for it, including "lolgun" and "physics gun". I think I wanted to see a weapon that somehow suppresses someones uncanny semblance to aid them in combat.
So I quickly drew this.
It kinda works in conjunction with his semblance, which is the strange phenomenon of draining his aura that randomly gets expelled from his body sporadically.
His "weapon" prevents this from happening by suppressing his semblance, giving him control over it albeit it is weaker.
He can use these "aura bursts" to launch aura projectiles and add more oomph into his blows and such.
He must wear these restraints all the time or risk rapidly expending his aura around him with destructive results.
So to complement his semblance, he is a powerhouse and uses superior brute force to force his opponent into submission.
The drawing is just the gist of how it would look like.
If not OC then its Jaune's Crocea-Mors, you can really make some amazing fights with it I imagine.

Sayen Cerenkov: Tomahawks that turn into machine-pistols.
Eira Farkas: Tanto that when sheathed can fold into a small holdout pistol
Rowan Eurig: Fuck this is gonna be awkward to explain. A backpack-based energy weapon. It's more like akimbo energy pistols that are connected to the backpack to make them overpowered or draw constant power to use them like energy blades or thrusters. And the entire thing can be taken off and folded up for an emergency one-use beam cannon.

-A Dirty Harry old style chest holster for a revolver. Trough some weird trait, I have with that OC, the revolver is powered by his aura. The holster is kind of grafted into him in a pseudo Adam Jenson kinda way that harnesses his aura. The holster and expand outward to be some kind of exo skeleton.

Kept in three holsters on the waist, one on the right side and two on the left, one regular and one cavalry, and D'Artagnan kept in the boot.
They can turn into pistol gripped rapiers for close range combat, the bullets taking on a more concussive shotgun blast effect in that form than accurate bullets in the revolver form.

Ahhh ok. Sadly, nothing really would happen. The pressure from the incoming bullet MIGHT cause enough pressure to activate a primer and discharge a round thereby causing it to explode, but it would be a very small explosion. Basically the round would "cook off". It's certainly dangerous if say it happened if you had your hand wrapped around it or if you were stepping on it when it happened (the exploding power would rupture the brass and probably take a noticeable chunk from your flesh but not much more than that).
Most modern "exploding ammunition" has basically too small of a pyrotechnic charge to be of any real danger. Short of shooting say a MK19 grenade or something, shooting a mag full of HE tipped bullets won't really do anything unless said mag was lying right up against someone's leg or being held by a person's hand. You'd have better success shooting a properly mixed tub of tannerite if you really wanted to cause a big boom by a bullet.
As you can see in the video, a little goes a metric fuckton of a long way.

As for mine, I've actually come up with a few.One is like Cross Tail from AgK, but more like a big pair of gloves then just the little things on his fingers. The gloves transform into pistols.
The next is just a plasma rifle thing that transforms into something like TR-8R's baton.
One is a pike with a hollow shaft with vents just under the blade that allow the user to channel aura through it to boost the power/speed of their swings. It also has a muzzle-loader-type thing in the bottom half of the shaft.
The last is a short staff with a ringed blade on the end and a dust revolver thing built in like Myrtenaster that I made for an OC that blows explosives bubbles as their Semblance/ranged attack.I know, autism, blah blah blah.

And the guns are connected by conduits but they aren't loose. They're inside armored solid plating that are fastened to the outside of his arms and hook into the backpack up near the shoulders. Protects the conduits and lets him block weapons with his forearms.

I just tend to start foaming at the mouth when people bring up 'quantum' in fiction, as it's frequently misunderstood (on account of quantum physics being very non-intuitive and completely irrelevant to 99% of people)

Yang's gauntlets seem pretty useful.Not so much a weapon as a training aid/power limiter, aura dampeners. A set of bands that go on the ankles, waist, and wrists that dampen the users aura and scramble his control over it. Think weighted clothes for your aura.

The beauty of the Kimura in competition and combat sports is the fact that the position the person being locked is in is not conductive for punching power.
You can't really punch your way out of it and if you don't try to stop it from happening the ref will stop it.
Which is also the same reason why you shouldn't use it if the person you're trying to submit has a habit of carrying a gun in both hands.
Because you can always touch the person who is submitting you with your free hand. You just can't usually do shit all because you're unarmed.
Armed however you can shove the barrel into the guy doing it and open fire.
If you're talking about underhooking the far closed armpit she can just has to close it and fire. If you're talking about the close open armpit she can put it on your spine and fire.

Yeah I think that's the problem, we've seen how volatile dust can be (roman shooting that Fire dust crystal in episode 1), still though, I'd imagine if they want rounds to be stable enough to be fed through a magazine they would probably bring them down in power to make them safer than that.
Though so far we've also only seen Atlas troops using what appear to be laser/energy based weaponry, so it seems like conventional dust rounds are a bit more antiquated or Atlas is really on the bleeding edge of tech.

True, wouldn't be surprised they've figured out a way to harness a particularly volatile dust crystal or type and use that to power an energy rifle. You pretty much don't have to carry a mag, and they appear to be powerful. These two goobers managed to shoot down large ursas before they got overrun.

Dust rounds might also be more volatile, but more modular. A single directed energy weapon either powered directly through dust or just having a Dust-based powerpack isn't as flexible as say, when Weiss gave Blake her multipack of Dust rounds to use for in the Gambol Shroud.
Alternatively, it's much more energy efficient. You might get hundreds of moderate-powered shots out of a single battery pack, but that's not going to always have the same punch as say, an experienced hunter knowing the right timing on a lightning, ice or fire round. Let alone Caster-types like Weiss.
