Batman and the Robins are a Warriors-style street gang at war with the other gangs of Gotham City, who are all based on his villains.
That wouldn't work for Earth 47 but oh well.

that's basically how the pre-PC era was. You could actually talk openly about shit. maybe your editor wouldn't like it, but in general if you had a message, you had a voice. shows like sanford and son and all in the family are actually heavily sanitized when they air now, and they're still legitimately edgier than anything that attempts 'edgy' today.
if we'd kept it up, I think we could have worked our way through society's issues.
