There has been some interesting comics from Germany that fall under the "alternative/underground" umbrella in the 80's - present. Cartoonists like Ralf König, Volke Reiser, Ulli Lust, Aisha Franz and others.

I actually just read it after being on my to read list since like 2012. I thought she was almost too fucking naive and stupid. Yes, she's only 17 but I don't think anyone who is 17 today would be this fucking naive. Or is it just the way girls are? All in all, it's a pretty good book.
