What DC or Marvel trades have the coolest artwork?
I don't get the appeal of Darwyn Cooke's art, especially on interiors. It looks absolutely shit on those X-Statix issues.

Maybe you just have a preference for realism. My favorite art is the stuff that looks cartoony.

Check out Solo or Wednesday Comics.

Not op, but I just bought the deluxe hardcover of solo. Got it for a song, can't wait to read it. Steranko nick fury is also a nice grippy read as well as ditko or engleheart dr. Strange.

Trippy, not grippy

So...
You don't like Jack Kirby?

Manapul's art with Buccelato's coloring on the New 52 Flash is by far the highlight of that book.
Jesus Saiz's art for Swamp thing during Soule's run was pretty great

you paid for it with a song?

It's a turn of phrase, he got it for cheap/good value.
Gabrielle Dell Otto in the 2004 Secret War, X-Force - Sex & Violence & Spider-Man - Family Business.

Paquette's art when Snyder was on the title was pretty awesome too.

The artists they had on Robinson's "Shade" were pretty good.
I also liked the artists they had on Waid's "Daredevil."
Get anything by Frazer Irving, too. He made Bendis' "Uncanny X-Men" worthwhile for a bit. The art on "Batman & Robin" was great, too. Not DC or Marvel, but I loved Morrison's :Annihilator.:

Andrea Sorrentino on Bendis' X-Men annual was gorgeous
The various artists on Morrison's Seven Soldiers. The whole book had fucking great art.
