The Killing Joke is being animated and released this year.
I really hope they show us something soon, the last couple DC Direct films were pretty shit and I'm sick of this serialized style they keep using on the animated Bat films.
Bruce Timm helming it gives me hope, but I really wanna see a teaser or some character models soon. TKJ isn't even a long story either, how do you make something like it into a movie? It feels if they stuck with the source it would take like 30-40 minutes tops to finish.

People think Batman resting his hand on Joker's shoulder is him about to choke the Joker. Alan Moore spells it out in the script, and Brian Bolland's art is clear enough, his arm is well below the Joker's neck. The "abrupt ending" to the laughter applies to both Batman and Joker and is just their laughter being drowned out by the police sirens so the last panels can focus on the visual of the headlight/"flashlight" with Batman and Joker on either side.
