Maybe that is the joke. Like, the joke's on you for reading the comic in the first place? Like, "Ha ha, this fool thought there'd be some kind of punchline, but actually it's just a lot of uninsightful social commentary."
When I read it that way it still isn't very funny, but I can smile a little thinking that all this work went into producing a joke about the comic's self. Every panel, the author imagines you sitting there scratching your head over this trying to find the comedy.
