Anyone feel like Marvel's been in a rut of late? It feels like it's entering a constant event cycle with the same MCU faces and pretty popular characters who constantly get pushed.

Will there be change on the horizon? Or are we doomed to more of the same shit we've been getting in 2012?

The event cycle isn't new at all.

>Tumblr nose in a Marvel comic.
When will the hurting stop.

Until the movies stop selling or until marvel/disney run out of material for movies

remember when the event cycle was just kind of a fun thing that dc used to do in the 90's

back when they were just called 5th week events and some were half serious like power surge while other were wacky and zany like sins of youth or justice league of ?.

man, they really just need to go back to that model, embrace events so they aren't all so stale.

>Will there be change on the horizon?
In short, no. Events and #1 relaunches will continue to try and squeeze out every dime they can from their fanbase because Marvel is more concerned with short term profits than long term health of itself and the market. Newer, popular characters will continue to be some variation of young waifu-style girl with some combination of quirky, nerdy, geeky and fangirly personality to appeal to an increasingly emasculated fanbase. The only characters that will buck this trend are those who are changed to appear as they do in the movies in order to try to shamelessly cash in on the much, much more popular medium which has already deserted the comics side in favor of harboring itself fully under Disney's umbrella. Rampant pandering and obvious headline fishing gimmicks like pregnant superheros will continue in order to get pats on the head from random media outlets in hopes of getting additional publicity to get some non-comic reader to maybe pick up an issue or two with little regard to their existing readers who they (rightly) assume will put up with it and continue to buy anyway out of habit. This is the present and future of Marvel.

right now, marvel has no focus.
they have great characters (especially young characters that should be adults by now, like the runaways and the young avengers and that weird avengers academy group) and anyways, if they wanted new characters, they could use them as adults instead of "recasting" people like wolverine and captain america.

they are playing it safe with things such as "oh well let´s put x character instead of steve rogers so x character can become popular" instead of giving them a new title, cast, etc.
>>
also WHAT THE FUCK WITH THE NEW HAWKEYE TITLE they should have tried that fraction formula on other character instead of getting a new team to do the same shit, goddamit.

Marvel is pushing a ton of weird books that would never have gotten runs ten years ago right now.

Not sure what you're talking about there.

Why is she happy that Thor is a woman ?

Speaking of which, why didn't they make that kid from those young Avengers students or something the new Captain America ? Wasn't he trained for that and had super soldier serum as well ?

>all this truth

>why didn't they make that kid from those young Avengers students or something the new Captain America ?
Because all Patriot did was do a ton of drugs to get super powers, quit then get them through legit means, helped out with a few things, then was forgotten because just being black isnt diverse enough for Young Avengers anymore. MUH GRANDPA isnt enough of a qualification

Well if they were going to give Steve Rogers grandpa grey hair and rapidly age him, why not give the mantle to Patriot to be the black successor? What is the actual fucking point to having Sam Wilson be the new Cap if only because they were friends? Oh yeah, and the fucking wings, like they were any benefit to the character. But Sam as the new Cap just makes me rage, especially with Bendis writing.

>why not give the mantle to Patriot to be the black successor?
Because he's done fuck all to deserve it, he's a barely reformed druggie that even his own team doesnt care about anymore. It'd make no sense to do it, like giving some random chucklefuck on the street the shield

>What is the actual fucking point to having Sam Wilson be the new Cap if only because they were friends?
He's been active for decades, he's respected and yeah, its a choice that Steve approved of

>But Sam as the new Cap just makes me rage, especially with Bendis writing
I dont see how Bendis writing Patriot wouldnt be even worse
