Return to the chill still-image bumps.

The current set of bumps are really good, and definitely an improvement over the lolsorandumb bumps they had going for a while, but not as good as the still-image ones.

And I know it's not going to happen, since it's kinda what helps keep [adult swim] alive, but drop some of the Seth showing times. At the very least, toss Cleveland Show.
>>
Fix the goddamn schedule. You have 15+ years of quality programming in your archives. Why is it that all you show is just FOX reruns, robot chicken, Aqua teen, and Mr. pickles?
>>
Find a way to greenlight quality animation that can manage to do a season a year

License anime for Toonami based on what people want to watch and not on what one guy likes

Resist the urge to buy the rights to Bordertown despite it being dirt cheap
>>

I want more episodes of Off the Air, preferably including one with a bunch of the older bumps.
>>

But the early era was the best.
>>
>>78639801
Tell Lazzo that
>>
>>78639849
I'm pretty sure he'll just plug his ears and go on about how Family Guy or whatever the fuck saved the block and how it's much better than what they used to do.
He'll probably also say that Space Ghost was a mistake.
>>
>>78639864
Lazzo is a certified moron. Anyone have the greentext copy pasta that lists all the shit he's done over the years?
>>
>>78639901
At this point, the only thing I'd watch Adult Swim for is the bumps and they're still not as good as they used to be.
>>
More KotH/Bob's Burgers
Toonami more than once a week (Friday night/Saturday morning) would be good too)
Less Family guy
Zero Cleveland Show
>>
>Bring back Futurama
>More animation. I'm sick of all these shitty live-action shows.
>>
>>78640042
Comedy Central playing hours of it every day made me completely fucking sick of Futurama, I'm good on that.

You have an internet connection, figure the rest out. Some of us don't work the same hours at McDonalds that you do.
>>
>>78639062

Do you think they actually hate all that quality programming? Lazzo has gone on record saying that Family Guy reruns gets more viewers consistenly that anything they air.
>>
>>78640146
Because everything else they air right now is fucking garbage.
>>
>>78638923
I want [as] to have Lazzo fired.
>>
>>78640146
I was thinking this might exactly be the case. Even if a person hated quality they'd still like to make money, and if early AS was a cash cow Lazzo would have no problem playing it like they do family guy.
>>
>>78640202
Unless they're like DeMarco, where they let their personal opinions influence what they air instead of what would actually do well.
>>
>>78640171
>>78640228

Family Guy always does well. It gets consistently high ratings for its timeslot no matter what channel it's on. It's laser targeted at the coveted 18-24 year old demographic, the lifeblood of most cable channels.
>>
>>78640146
The think the problem is that they can't advertise their original programming during the whole day since it's CN. That coupled with the fact that [as] programming is more niche than most blocks means that it's hard to keep bringing those weird comedies back since they're not making any money. I think [as] would work better as a paid service like Netflix.
>>

>cancelled China Il and Aqua Teen without letting the creators have a say

Here's a question; could AS survive as its own channel? It'd be 10/10 background noise if nothing else; CN used to be good for it but now 90% of its programming is low-budget cartoons with ridiculous amounts of screaming.

>>
>>78640771
Cable channel? No. Now is the absolute worst time to create a new channel, regardless of content.

Now if they really pushed online or streaming delivery, they could get a leg up on the competition before cable finally dies.
>>
Slow down on live action and find some decent animated shows because right now Fox is killing it with ADHD.

Either let Toonami creep into the 11:00 hour or give back their post 3:30 timeslot

Toonami desperately needs a shot in the arm right now. And starting off the year with Champloo and filler in Naruto/One Piece does nothing but put a drag on the block.

DeMarco needs to get off his high horse and listen to the fans. If they want things P&S or Jojo. Get them.

Should probably get a word in before the Toonamifags flood in en masse to circlejerk about how it's a travesty that Family Man is more popular than anime.

>Be more clear about project statuses
Yes, they announced a year or so ago that they were looking into a Hal and Kumar series, but haven't said anything about it since. Or how Seth Green's wife was working on live action/animated pilot for her Sailor Moon spoof. Regardless of either project's quality updates would be nice. Remember Tight Bros (a series about two priests played by MC Chris and MF DOOM)? Of course not, because they aired the first episode at their Upfront years ago, with an intended premiere date of Oct 2010. October came and went, and then they said Feb 2011. Once again, nothing. Series was never mentioned again.

>>78645530
The thing is, you do need some AD and FG, but not as much as they have. McFarlane shows pull in high ratings between 10:30 and 12:00 but everything before that is mostly a wash and afterwards the standard Robot Chicken x2/Aqua/Squids/Superjail/Metalocalypse pairing is getting a bit stale and the ratings as starting to show that. They need more fresh blood. If they rely too much on FOX shows and only certain originals, the shows will become worthless over time.
>>
>>78647201
>Get Futurama back if CC isn't doing anything with it
This will never happen. AS is CC's biggest competitor and CC bid ridiculous amounts of money to stop AS from getting the syndication rights to Archer and Always Sunny and of course stole Futurama back in 2007.

How the hell did this happen? Nevermind the ridiculous amount of Teen Titan Go! reruns, but just the sheer lack of variety in their programming.

Morning Slot No One Watches:
>Transformers
>Pokemon

The Rest:
>TTG
>Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!
>Wabbit
>Uncle Grandpa
>Gumball
>Looney Tunes
>The Tom and Jerry Show

I mean, at the risk of sounding like a nostalgiafag, the Cartoon Cartoon era had a shitload of shows compared to this.

>Ed, Edd, 'n Eddy
>Dexter's Laboratory
>Johnny Bravo
>Powerpuff Girls
>Samurai Jack
>Megas XLR
>Cow and Chicken
>Courage the Cowardly Dog
>I Am Weasel
>The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy
>Justice League
>Teen Titans (although I think this is kinda leaning on the later end)
>Scooby-Doo
>Looney Tunes
>Tom and Jerry
>A bunch of Hanna-Barbara classics that were cycled around
>All the programming on Toonami

Not all of those shows were great, but at least there were options.

I know that schedule is missing Clarence and Adventure Time, but it still just feels like it's lacking in variety.
>>
>>78652757
You could say the same thing about most of Adult Swim's schedule too
>>
>>78652785
It certainly can, especially with Seth shows taking up almost half the block's running time. I get that they help keep [adult swim] afloat, but damn, I hate about 80% of Family Guy, I'm extremely tired of American Dad! by this point, and I never cared for The Cleveland Show.

I figure in the case of both [adult swim] and Cartoon Network it's simply because it's cheap, but this kinda goes to show how cable is on the dying end. Some other channels have a fair amount of variety, but even that seems to be dwindling.

More original content and not more reruns. All of what rerun is either on another channel or available via some streaming service. Kill Toonami or get someone else to run it. Those marathons are cheap but drag the ratings. Also less shit like Fish Center.
>>
Adult Swim is literally rerunning the same episode of "Your Whole" and "Informercials" every night this week. What the hell. I know that the 4 AM slot doesn't get many viewers but it seems stupid to play the same episode over and over again (of shows that air in DVR Theater on a regular basis) when there's a bunch of AS shows in the archive that haven't gotten a run in years.

AS need to have a throw back year. It's just Year of reusing old shit, bumpers and shows. Bring things that are so dusty many have never heard of. Have a weekly night of just old shit like toonami.
The vintage feel would be just insane for everyone. Kids who are now grown like me are going to be like "OH SHIT BRO THIS IS LIKE WHEN I BROKE MA'S RULES." oldies be like the same except a weird nostalgia high of a simpler life.
Even toonami could splice in old Toms and say it's a bunch of corrupted archives since Tom 5 is dead or something, they resort to old shit trying to control with Sara's voice coming in and out like saying the show name with the Toms just saying UP NEXT, LATER, DON't MOVE.

>Toonami more than one night a week
Which nigh usually gets lower ratings, Friday or Sunday, because having Toonami on either of those nights as well could be cool.

This. Off the air is a real treat never know what to expect and it comes on when I am disoriented so it is the perfect time slot. As for what I'd like to see I would like Mike Judge to do a adult swim original. If we lived in my fantasy head canon Beavis and Butthead would have came back on Adultswim instead of MTV and would have blown up instead of getting canceled. All my friends who would have watched it live were at work. If it were on Adultswim it would have pulled in that audience more since they would have been home to see it.

Me too, anon. I think some of those bumps had music that fell under the "chill out" genre, too, and I tend to put Pandora on that genre channel when I go to bed. That stuff soothes me to sleep so well.

Oh, yes.

Friday AS has their best lineup as well as Sunday, no? Rest of the week is just uninspiring

Looking at all the still image bumps makes me with bumpworthy had a random bump button.

This.
Why just compete for TBS audience, when you could pull in a unique demographic, with actually cheaper stuff that is actually "new" to the people watching.
(Kids today, asking me, "what do you mean, Aqua Teens is a spin-off?" I am one of the few who isn't sick to death of McFarrlin, but there is a limit to Tater-Tots with Cheeze Wiz, three meals-a-day, every night. Mix it up a little bit. Give old school Toonami a second night; show something that isn't "eh..ok" by my standards, show crap I'd love or turn off, not something I'll always use like classic radio DJ-ed by a CD changer).

I'm sick to death of EVERY station, especially the stations that started as niche programming, gradually shifting to the same indistinguishable demographic.
Why fight with TBS for the same advertisers, when you could grab a slice of totally untouched pie, and charge more for it? Even AMC is starting to get this. This is lazy, and is like burning cash for heat, when wood is cheap.

Ok, so it is obvious at this point that he is a terminator, sent from the future to deliberately bankrupt the channel, no other explanation is possible at this point.
(I, personally love Chicken...but when they finally show a new episode, I don't even notice at this point...they could "Mr.Rodgers" the whole network, and show repeats that they already paid most of the cost of, in a rotation that would be totally new to 90% of their audience...instead they do the same thing as their daytime colleagues, who want to air the same three episodes of TeenTitansGo three times a day, every day, for two weeks straight.)

The only realistic thing I can hope for is an aqua teen episode on April Fool's and something special for their 15th anniversary

I know how to revive Toonami.

Take the shows they have rights to and start making official abridged series.

Were you the guy in the FISHCENTER thread on /tv/ the other day? He also said Squirt was his favorite and I know there's not many viewers. If you are indeed him, obviously I want this to stay anonymous, but would I know who you are as a fellow viewer? Do you call in?

>won't give Metalocalypse another season to wrap up the series because of a petty argument over creative control with Brendon Small

Pretty sure [as] wanted a season and Small only wanted to do a special, so they said he'd get nothing.

But yeah, Lazzo's a twat who forgot what made people like him notable in the first place.
>>
>>78644553
You're an idiot, Demarco loves Jojo. They can't get it because Warner Bros is charging them out the ass for the airing rights.
>>
>>78674860
not him but I was the one who posted in that /tv/ thread the other day. And nah, I've only gotten through once so probably not.

currently AT airs at 7:30pm Mon-Fri and SU airs new all week at 5:30, then will air only on Sundays at 6am for an hour and 6pm for two.

AS wanted a full season, Brendon wanted a miniseries. I think Lazzo recently said on Lunchtime Games he wants at least one more special for it
