That's not the real Robotnik. This is, and I'm really glad the comics got to use his design in Genesis and the new continuity's flashbacks.
I want him back so bad. Yes he didn't look like the canon design, but I would take a Robotnik that is truly evil and not a moron any day.

The only way you can get that is if Robotnik doesn't do anything. Seriously, most of his cred in SataM is just being passive enough that defeats don't affect him personally. When all you do is sit around, you don't look like a fool for being beaten.
