There are single character deals, there are pre-existing deals with other companies, there are usage rights and merchandisind rights, which also involve third parties, and so on.

Nothing needs to be fixed, it's actually fine. He was a little orphaned kid, who had to work hard to be accepted, in a world where he stood out like sore-thumb. He was never a 'tourist', but an immigrant. What young immigrant to a new country/place isn't going to buckle down and work hard in their new environment, especially if it's just them? And, if people still feel salty that a white kid got the mantle, it was stated in the 90's series and greatly expanded on in the relaunch that it's a mantle, and he was never the first. If the showrunner is smart they will show that. (Especially if Orson (past IF before Danny) also white is a series regular.) And, we aren't even getting into the other Immortal Weapons!
I see people using the "Cultural Appropriation" argument, but it's not applicable both in-universe and in real life.
1) Marvel didn't create Danny to have a lead to a Kung-Fu based comic without an Asian lead. Shang-Chi: Master of Kung-Fu created a year before Danny had well over 100 issues, Iron Fist IIRC couldn't even get to 30 issues before he was facing cancellation, and paired with Luke Cage. Sun-Lin, the Chinese-American leader of the multicultural "Sons of the Tiger" was also created during that era.
2) Danny isn't a "stranger in a strange land" in K'un-Lun, at least not after the first few months of this life there. He is a visual outsider, though. He was raised there since he was nine. It's when he comes back to America, that he's a 'fish out of water', when he returns to America to avenge his parents he's culturally K'un-Lunian. And, you can't 'appropriate' your own culture. American culture and modern day technology is something he needs to readjust to.
He's a white kid who grew up discriminated against, but when he comes back to America he realises what he forgot, as a WASP he had every privilege under the sun. I could see some interesting conversations to be had about privilege between Luke and Danny.

I think it could be fine if people wrote several detailed posts about the character of Danny and his exploration of "White Privilege". However, this is the same US-Centric Tumblr that finds it a) Impossible to separate Culture from race and b) Thinks it's impossible to be racist to white people, using the Racism= Power+Privilege equation. They don't seem to realise that only applies to "institutional racism" and the demographic in that position changes, depending on the context.
That's probably why people are having SUCH a hard time just getting the fundamentals of his character right, and are all aboard the #AAIronFist train, and having Danny BE from K'un-Lun re-connecting to his culture via Kung-Fu. That is against one of the core tenants of his character, it's just a gross misunderstand of Danny's arc, I don't know what to say. It doesn't help that people are spreading around a false caricature of him as the "Ultimate White Saviour tm", when he's never been that. They saved him.
It would truly help, if we had more Asian male actors in hollywood in leading roles. It's pretty sparse.

Right, but now it's the directors. Peyton Reed, Gunn and Derrickson have been pretty much buddies for years, and even Waititi has joined the group on twitter. Gunn is always talking about how he admires the Russos as well. What you have now is each director handling the faction of the universe they control, instead of a bunch of fat, bald bozos pulling the shots to sell more of their comics (seriously, why are they all fat and bald?). So now you have Gunn calling the shots and helping the Russos for the cosmic stuff in Av3, and Derrickson will handle the magic side of things, and they can talk with eachother as a group instead of having a proxy of fat bald men. Now this, is what it all boils down to. The lack of opportunities for Asian male actors in Hollywood, and in turn Asian masculinity being represented on screen.
People see a Kung-Fu dude is going to be introduced into the MCU, and martial arts are associated with Asian cultures, so they think "Huzzah!", finally a chance to have an Asian male lead, even if it is something stereotypical. People are then disappointed and angry when they find out he's White. People try and race-bend him Asian, but they're trying to race-bend a character where if you look at the whole context of him, character arc, origin, personality, closest relationships, is very fucking white.

All this Science vs Magic is poorly defined by everyone discussing it.

If you can replicate a phenomenon, it is, by definition, Science. Magic spells are science, nanomachines are science, quantum physics is science, etc. The marvel world is made out of two aspects of reality (for the purposes of this discussion) physics and meta-physics.

What you do to manipulate physics to get the phenomenon you want. That's Newtonians physics, qantum physics, bullshit physics like Pym particles, Reed Richard's stuff, Iron Man's stuff. The people who craft technology are engineers. So, engineers are scientists in a broad meaning of the word. Earth has sort of mastered technology, and so has most of the cosmic marvel pawn-characters (Guardians, Nova, etc).

What you do to manipulate meta-physics to get the phenomenon you want. That's spells, enchantments, astral projections, etc. Generally controlled by will/meditation/soul shit. Earth Science can't explain it because the only side of Science earth has 'mastered' is technology. Asgard, on the other hand, doesn't really have that much of a technological edge because they went the magic route, and all their machines are medieval and all their 'engineers' and basically enchanters and sorcerers. That's not to say they can't into technology, but for the most part they either didn't need it or they used it alongside with magic. They don't use the word scientist because they know humans are too stupid to understand what they would mean by it.
