Just started episode 4 in the series. Damn funny if I do say so myself! Bill Burr fits the character perfectly and the delivery of the jokes is flawless. Fuck the Goldburgs

the era has nothing to do with it, it's the telegraphing of jokes and no weight to situations.
sitcoms used to have morals built into every episode along with humor, it wasn't just a one note joke for 30 minutes.

Do you like Bob's Burgers? I haven't watched it since the 3rd season but this show is like a more adult version of it. The jokes are on point. It shows the differences of living in a suburban family then vs now. Kids will never have it like we did back in the day.

I wouldn't say it's more adult, maybe more grounded but less grounded than King of The Hill somewhere in between.
Regardless the show lacks any real quality in it's story telling, the only claim to fame it has is Bill's close to home dialogue/mannerisms/etc.
Beyond that the show is extremely shallow, the neighbors are one dimensional accessories, the kids are exasperated B plot fodder, and Frank is absolutely nothing new, maybe a poor man's Red Forman at best.

I suppose I forgot this is /co/ lol. For me, its a good and funny show to watch right now since its late at night. It's a short season too. Did you like Bojack at least? I think that has some quality to it.

Bojack is fine, second season was a little weak until the last few episodes.
It started slow for me but it's a damn good show by the end. I do like the setting as well, the era and location are perfectly dreary.
