Why does Disney pretend this movie doesn't exist
Because Disney is allergic to promoting good films that aren't easily mashed into the whole princess musical merchandising machine.
Because it's from that unusual post-Walt, pre-Little Mermaid era.
Also, it has smoking, alcoholism, and a burlesque act.

It's probably a case like Tarzan and 101 Dalmations, where Disney doesn't own full rights to the characters because it wasn't based on a public domain work. As a result, their lawyers have to make damn certain that they don't accidentally overstep the contract whenever they do anything with the property.

This movie's weird. It implied that every human home had exact mice counterparts of themselves living with them. Were there parallel histories? Did those mice go through The Troubles? Did they have bloody revolutions as well? How did they hide the sound of tiny muskets, and all the smoke from flaming mini-houses? What did they do with the bodies?

Do you want an apology from Disney for this movie not being popular or something? It had its chance. Not Disney's fault people want the princess stuff more. They didn't even actively market the princess stuff as a brand until they noticed a ton of feedback from parents and children who complained about the lack of merchandise available. TGMD had multiple releases, a theatrical rerelease,a few VHS and DVD releases. It never resonated enough to be marketed in constantly. It's just one of the many awkward 70's/80's Disney movies hipsters cling onto because they're not as well recognized.

I was raised by this cartoon, i've watched it like two dozen times when i was a little dumb child
Yet not one track in there stuck with me, the music was great and memorable FOR WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE MOVIE.
It is the perfect accompaniment for the cartoon, but taken by itself it is not stellar or even catchy, it doesn't have a leg to stand on its own.
That's the only problem i see in the movie, Not the death-by-being-eaten-by-a-giant-fat-cat scene, not the burlesque, not even Ratigan

Fan wankery AFAIK. That said, it smacks profoundly of 1990s Disney (when the rumor surfaced) to do a film supposedly centering on Mickey in which he's offscreen as much as possible, so he can't do anything interesting and unbefitting of the corporate mascot.
