The Princess locked in the tower was put there by her father in the hopes that he could use her fear and despair and hate to control the Grimm. Ruby's Ultimate Crescent Rose looks similar to her current Crescent Rose, but it's two Scythes that join together end on end in blade form, and side by side in gun form.
Weiss's Myrtenaster gets as long as a Buster Sword, and has Dust Crystals floating around it in addition to the Dust in the revolver Mechanism.
For the ultimate form of Blake's Gambol Shroud, the Pistol form becomes an SMG form, and the sheath can fold into a pistol like the original blade could, as well as being able to extend to a longer blade. The ribbon is now a whip sword with the same flexibility.
As for Yang's Ember Celica, they now launch small smart missiles, have a flamethrower mode, are the size of 5 bricks when active, and have a jackhammer attached to the front.

Nora's Ultimate Magnhild is twice the size, and fires heat seeking missiles instead of grenades. The Hammer is electrified, the handle is constantly delivering electric shocks to the wielder.
Pyrrha's Ultimate Miló and Akoúo̱ is pretty simple. The Shield is now Razor Sharp and splits into multiple smaller sharp discs. The rifle now has optional napalm rounds, and can fire while in sword or Javelin mode. The Javelin can now be set to fire automatically after impacting a target.
Ren's Ultimate StormFlower is a pair of SMGs with AP rounds, and Extended Magazines, which replace the blades on the original. The Magazines double as knife blades and are also explosive if thrown and then shot. Ren wears specialized gloves in order to handle his ammunition, and can throw them like knives. Exploding knives.

How would weapon upgrade work in a RWBY RPG? Would you just buy new and stronger weapon to replace the weaker ones> Like Ruby starts with Crescent Rose but can later buy Sickled Thorn, which just has better stats?
Or do you find materials to increase your weapon's strength? Say you have X amount of material you can turn Crescent Rose into Crescent Rose +2? With each succeeding upgrade changing the look of the weapon slightly until the final upgrade just looks like a more badass version of the default?
