I'd go yeti hunting with Elsa Frankenstein. We'd hike through the mountains (ski through the mountains?) until we caught the beast. Then we'd drag it's carcass back to our cozy log cabin in the woods and perform an autopsy in our makeshift medical lab. Afterwords, while Elsa tans the skin I would cook up delicious yeti-steaks for dinner.
After dinner we would relax by the fireplace, discussing our new scientific findings over a few warm brandies. We'd crack jokes that no one would get without a background in medical science, start flirting, and then make love on our new yeti-skin rug.

While she had nothing against Christmas, Winnie was finding it increasingly difficult to enjoy this year in particular. The annoying music, the crowds, the slush.
"I really shouldn't have left my shopping to the last minute," Winnie groused, her voice muffled by the scarf covering her face. At least being bundled up head-to-toe meant she could sneak into town without her usual military escort, but keeping her tail bound up inside her pants went a long way towards ruining the experience. "And I REALLY shouldn't have wasted all morning playing in the snow with Tanis, either," she continued, very aware of the steadily disappearing sunlight. Winnie picked up her pace, hurrying through the salt-crusted and slush-soaked city streets.
"Gotta hurry, gotta hurry," Winnie panted, ducking and weaving her way through the legs of the other shoppers on her way into the biggest department store in town. She checked her list again;

Winnie growled inside her scarf, but at least this time it wasn't at her habit of procrastination. This time it was at her extremely limited budget that was the cause of her complaint. The popularity of the sickeningly cute "mogwai" movie-tie-in merchandise was baffling to Winnie, but Tanis was as smitten by the marketing campaign as every other preteen girl in town was. She'd begged, borrowed and graverobbed to gather the money she needed; now to actually buy the wretched thing.
"Watch where you're going, shorty!"
Winnie slammed snout-first into the ass of one of America's silver-medal holders in the obesity Olympics, just barely able to move about under her own power but still taking up most of the aisle. Ahead of her was a whole crowd of the same, each fighting their way towards what was evidently the last of the dolls Winnie was after.

"Excuse me! ECKS-CUEZ-MEEE!" Winnie shouted at the top of her lungs, trying her very hardest to push her way politely through the thick wall of shoppers. Miss Grimwood had always taught the girls that a firm but courteous plea was the fastest way through any social obstacle. Miss Grimwood had never gone shopping at 4:45 on December 24th.
"I sure hope Santa isn't watching right now...!" Winnie said under her breath, unsheathing her claws through her mittens and climbing over the mountain of flesh in front of her. As soon as she had scaled past eye-level the crowd became human stepping stones for her, as Winnie hopped from one set of shoulders to the next all the way down the department store aisle.
"Let go that's mine!" "Drop it bitch!" "Get your hands off that mogwai!"
Winnie reached the eye of the storm where a dozen desperate parents were squaring off over the last of the dolls, and dropped square into the middle of the fray. The sheer surprise of her abrupt entry into the scene was enough to loosen their respective grips enough for Winnie to tear the doll from their many hands, but the other shoppers' were on her after only an instant. That was until Winnie pulled off her scarf and Montreal Canadians' toque and gave the angriest, most rabid snarl she could.
Quite predictably the humans toppled over backwards in their fight to put distance between them and the dangerous wolf-girl. If Winnie was fated to be a monster, she figured she might as well make use of it now and then. "Pardon me!" she smiled and performed a quick curtsy as apology, and walked calmly through the now-parted crowd to the cash register.
"D-did you find everything y-y-you were looking for?"
"Yes," Winnie grunted, and dumped the contents of her change purse next to the doll. The cashier tallied the notes and change while Winnie shifted uncomfortably and glanced over her shoulder. Sherrif Jones would be getting a call and loading up the silver buckshot annnnny minute now...

Winnie skidded around the corner dashed past a sidewalk-Santa, knocking over his donation pot onto the pavement in the process.
"Sorry!" Winnie called over her shoulder, and immediately bit her tongue for letting her inner Canadian come out. Luckily there was no one around who would recognize her, at least as soon as she gave the chasing police sirens the slip. Winnie ducked into an alley and dashed straight through it, bypassing trash and stacked crates and dumpsters. If she could just get on the other side of the fence set halfway down the length of the block... Winnie pushed herself harder, her legs straining with the weight of her shopping bags in her arms, increasing her speed and leaped~!
With a crash Winnie landed clear on the other side in the middle of a pile of empty cardboard boxes and used packaging, her gifts scattering around her. She froze there, listening. Listening for the sirens that grew louder, closer, nearer... and then passed, and faded down the street. Then disappeared completely. Winnie sighed in relief.
"Arf!"
"....the fu...? Winnie cracked her eyes open, doubting her own ears.
"Arf! Arf arf arf!"
Winnie sat up and looked down at her toes poking out of her sneakers, where a small puppy dog was licking her. The puppy's siblings were more interested in Winnie's shopping bags, their tiny teeth making short work of the paper wrapping on Elsa's German sausages.
"Hey! Hey that's not for you, you little mutts!" Winnie growled, crawling over on hands and knees to yank the Christmas meats out of their tiny mouths. The puppies did not give it up easily and were lifted completely off the ground until Winnie could shake them loose.
"Where's your owner?" Winnie asked the yapping puppies, giving a few quick shakes of her leg to keep them from gnawing at her ankles. "For that matter, where's your mother?"
Winnie scouted around briefly, and took a peek behind a large dumpster, and made a discovery. "...oh."

"The ghosts in Dickens waited until midnight," Calloway observed, his eyes never looking up from the page he was reading.
"Yeah well they didn't have a curfew to keep!" Phantasma shot back with a huff. "So let's get this show rolling, okay? I'm the ghost of Christmas Past, yadda-yadda-yadda, let's explore your childhood and figure out why you hate Christmas."
Colonel Calloway at last closed his novel (which was, it turned out, and original edition of "A Christmas Carol" featuring the original unedited Scrooge shooting-spree ending later changed for the general release) and gave Phantasma his full attention.
"You are NOT the ghost of Christmas past, young lady. If such a spirit does exist I would have come across some mention of it outside of fiction. YOU are a dizzy C-student with more enthusiasm than good sense, and I fail to see how you even intended to follow through on your plan. I suppose you would take my hand and whisk me off through time and space to bombard me with visions of my past regrets? I'll save you time: I have none."
Phantasma was undeterred. "Okay, so I may not have any of those powers from the book..."
"But I got something better! EEeehhAHAHAHAH!"
While Phantasma cackled Calloway found himself flung back into his chair by an invisible force, iron manacles springing into existence around his wrists and ankles to lock him in place. When he looked up again Phantasma was floating in front of a pull-down screen and an old super-8 projector, a stack of film reels in her arms.
