superman is the OG with pretty heavy weight in the DC universe and has a good cast of allies and vilain

shazam/captain marvel is just more fun to read with whack allies like tawny-tawny spy smasher and foes like Mr mind or captain nazi.plus the supe family never made so much sense outside of krypto

Superman, Billy sort of skipped the silverage where a lot of characters got most of their prime villains and defining stories.
He's a good character but he's been massively shit on for over 70 years and he's been relegated to B-list because of it when he should be A-list in the JLA.

I've always liked Billy because of the whole innocence thing of a child coping with the harsh realities of being a hero. Also, because he's magic/mythology-based.
