If Rebecca Sugar hadn't left Frost&Fire would have never happened, and these two would have developed a Batman/Catwoman sort of dynamic.
Also, Steven Universe would still only be an idea in a notebook.
>>78234826
No they wouldn't.
>>78234853
That was the plan Sugar had for them, the rest of the team would have still fucked it up somehow
>>78234826

>>78235256
she obviously had a plan but don't talk out of your ass like you know the specifics
>>78234826
Why would you even want that kind of relationship? It's just a bunch of teasing with no real satisfaction for either character.
The best thing about Finn and FP's relationship was when they directly interacted with each other
>>78234826
>Steven Universe would still only be an idea in a notebook
She'd start making comics about it and then people would start asking for a cartoon
remember how Fionna and Cake started out as an idea, then a comic, then it ended up making it on the show like 3 times

Don't get so defensive, Xayaphone
In my mind I like to believe that cubbychambers comic of them is the Canon. Btw has anything come out since the marcilene episodes?
>>78234826
See, I didn't mind Frost and Fire.
I minded Finns complete lack of ability to learn from the mistake he made in that episode and the subsequent poor characterization on both of them.
Him having a breakup could have been an interesting thing if they didn't decide that the effect it would have on him would be to make him unlikable and uninteresting.

Only torrent I found has fucking no one seeding it, and my LCS turned up empty on the early stuff.
Is there a place to read it online?

I never went as far as children, but I did imagine he'd help her overthrow Fire King and then be knighted

I agree with this. I actually thought Frost and Fire was interesting, but later followups made Flame Princess feel less relevant and had Finn repeating mistakes that it felt like he had already overcome.

In the beginning, Adventure Time had too much comedy and not enough drama. Rebecca Sugar fixed that.
>>78234826
I disagree but at least the music would have been better and happen a bit more often. I love the songs in AT. I find it nuts that people hated "what was missing" just because it was a musical based episode. No fun allowed.
>>78241235

Sounds to me like we got the better end of the deal, universe-wise.

9/10ths of all the Bubbline stuff happened after she was gone. And since then, Finns been a depressed beta instead of sweeping princesses off their feet without even trying.
>>78234826
They probably would have had the relationship like Ned and Chuck from Pushing Daisies.I still miss that show, after all these years...

Given how the show works, probably purgatory.
If there was ever a chance for it to work again, it was Red Throne, but they fucked that up hard.

>>78244658
He said to the person who posted that their problem was that Finn will never be in a decent relationship.

Potentially, although I think it's more likely they might create another human character for fin to choose. Probably :
finn + new human character : 45%
finn + FP : 45%
finn + PB : 10%
Okay, so who do I need to shoot for fucking this ship up?
At least some of the newer episodes haven't been that bad.

and why would people not like the songs in what was missing? They were pretty great aside from Finn's awkward singing voice
>>78243183

>>78235773

>>78244652
Well that's depressing.
>>78235256
Her plan was probably for a cute happy relationship where FP tries to become good for Finn, and succeeds. Steven and Connie have a pretty low-conflict relationship, so it would be like that.
But your idea is better. They should take advantage of Finn's attraction to power, even if it's evil. He would think about his hypocrisy and get character development.
>>78249546
You know, I would have been happy with FP getting more development and struggling against her evil impulses, or with Finn getting development and having to come to terms with the fact that the world isn't as black and white "Kill evil, save good" as his mindset had been.
I would have been find with a lot of stuff besides what we got.
>>78246369
>he also doesn't need to be some harem lead self-insert
Harem leaders are beta. That's not the same as being a hero and banging the women you save. That's more like being Conan. The only difference with Finn is that the women who offer themselves to him are ugly stubbly little creatures he can't fugg.

the show wouldve been stale, mediocre shit either way.
now go and silently dump your shitty art elsewhere, faggot.
>>78242480
This is true. Rebecca Sugar was actively ruining Adventure Time (and she drew Finn really weirdly) and it got immediately better when she left. Steven Universe is great, and Adventure Time bounced back. We got the best timeline.
>>78249897
> just her knight, like Finn is to PB?
Yes because Finn totally doesn't have his eyes on PB. He does everything for her because she's just that great and deserves special treatment...
I can accept Feebs isn't actually getting pastry creamed every night, but the writers are smoking crack up their ass if they think it's platonic.
>>78250013
>Yes because Finn totally doesn't have his eyes on PB.
Yeah, in a totally one sided way.
And honestly, their more recent interactions really haven't seemed like he's pining for her anymore.
>>78250047
They don't put any effort into it when his pining isn't the focus of the episode, but as soon as he needs to rebound, the idea that he's moved on can go out the window. That wound will never, ever close.

>>78251447
The only way for it to blossom is for Marceline to be killed. That's literally his only obstacle.
>>78250013
>He does everything for her because she's just that great and deserves special treatment...
She's a source of adventure and fun times for him. She always doing something weird and interesting to get involved with, has technology and knowledge that he can use, and is the leader/creator of the local community of candy people he spends time with and protects. She gives him a way to be a cool "elite" hero. And whether it's a good relationship or not, they are friends. I don't think he's doing it out of infatuation anymore, and he probably never did just for that reason.
I figure he should move on sooner or later, the whole arrangement with being a knight serving something called the candy kingdom seems like a kiddie fairy tale fantasy. Like a training mode in his life of being a hero. Somewhere to play and dream during his childhood. Someday he oughtta leave the nest though
And CB and FP just plain get along, bonding through sincerity and wanting to get away from PB. But they just seem like buds, and CB's probably just really enjoying being the subject of a princess who respects him as a person
>>78252694
He's not very creative if he's turning to Bubblgum for entertainment. There are far weirder people to work under in the land of Ooo, if only he would leave home. He could even be a real wizard if he wanted to. That's a funny thing about Finn, the show proves he's more of a homebody than anything. If he has a chance to be comfortable, he'll take it in a flash. Which is why, if PB ever decides to return his affections, he'l be doomed doomed doomed. He'll never get out of there.
>>78252185
who cares though, honestly? this is a fictional tv program and watching Finn mope is unfun. And pointless in a show that can't progress. What's he gonna do, get over it and go back to being exactly who he was before? Ooooo amazing

At this point, Adventure Time is basically the Lost of the modern cartoon industry. Total lack of payoff in any episode or story arc, and any eventual ending that DOES happen will be too little, too late. At least Phineas and Ferb knew when to stop.
