I was hoping that with stuff like bojack taking off on netflix and rick and morty taking off on adult swim people would start to realize that you could do more with animation now than just d-list crass comedy to make fratboys and children laugh. But this literally looks like a higher budget family guy. Maybe it'll have some surprises down the line and just looks shitty now but I'm not holding out hope.
I really hope that Samurai Jack does well enough to maybe inspire people to at least make more animated action shows if only for diversity's sake. I really don't want western animation to be stuck in sitcom hell forever.

I think that this series significantly relies on whether you were a kid/teenager in the 70s in order to get the jokes. It's a more "relatable" style of humor, like "oh man that sounds just like my dad did back then" and stuff like that.
Which is fine for what it is, but in my opinion not a great idea, since it means the main target audience is people now in their 50s, who I'm not sure are predominantly into cartoons or using Netflix in general.
Could just be a shitty trailer, and I'm sure the series will have its moments, but the market wasn't exactly screaming for another animated family sitcom.
Everyone says they hate it, but the moment it's done airing, /co/ will be all over this show's dick like flies to a dead hooker.
