They Nolan trilogy wasn't good. Bale was a terrible Batman. The only reason people think it was good was because of Ledger's 10/10 acting and ad libing.
>>

That's your opinion and it's wrong, it wasn't perfect but it was definitely good

I didn't like Bale's voice, but he was a good Bruce. And I have to admit, the stupid throat cancer voice was realistic, which fits in with the premise of being a realistic interpretation of Batman (until DKR).
>>
Fuck Ledger's Joker.

He wasn't funny.
>>
>>78167140
I just don't understand why they even bothered with the realistic, practical batman when they had the fear toxin bullshit with Scarecrow in the first movie.
>>
>>78167229
gee, I don't know what they were thinking either

its not like it was one of the most profitable and widely acclaimed films of 2008 or something...

They're good movies, just not good batman movies, 3 being the weakest which turned Bane into a damn joke. I love how fear toxin is ok but venom drug isn't. Not saying he has to bench press a car but something

NO! PERFECTION OR SHIT! THERE IS NO INBETWEEN!!!!!!!!!!!
>>
>>78167278
I'm just saying that I don't understand why they picked their arbitrary line of Batman's technology, and just pussyfooted around it. Some of the things they went too far, and others they held back on.
That liquid atomizer thing from the first movie, the nuclear power generator from the third, it just raises the question as to why they touted him and the movies as being so realistic and grounded when there's all this goofy shit that is blatantly not realistic.

i think that what that anon waas saying was that that "science" doesnt fit into the "realistic" atmosphere nolan was trying to cultivate

i dont think its fair to compare the venom toxin to the fear toxin (within the context of "realistic" movie making) because venom toxin really couldnt be implemented without lots of cgi or costumes or literally replacing the actor with a huge guy

which could be cool i guess but it just wouldnt work

whereas the fear toxin can be represented by just gas. doesnt require any near as much suspension of disbelief to believe in gas

Bullcrap - it's because it's the only one with a clear conflict throughout the entire film. The first movie tried to juggle a bunch of stuff at once, and the third movie was too muddied to follow the secon'd movie's example.

I liked Bale's Wayne and his Batman, namely because his Batman seemed like an extension of Bruce's anger - it played up to the theatricality of the character. It was great to see a Batman using darkness and fear as his weapons in a believable way, too - he was more of a ninja than Keaton's or Conroy's, at least in Begins.
>>
>>78169531
>a hero is someone who shoots sucker darts from a giant handgun
>>
>>78177044
Also, his Wayne seemed the most human and sympathetic of any other - they made him a real character, and his arc throughout the trilogy, from suicidal nihilist to somebody who rediscovers the will to live and recover from trauma, was really quite affecting. To me, at least.
>>
It was good but overrated especially when Ledger died
Ledger's death just hype it up made people believe it was better than what it was
A solid 7/10 trilogy without Ledger goggles

>the nuclear power generator from the third

I remember Bruce throwing a fit over that kind of tech possibly falling into the wrong hands and being used to make bombs or whatever. But we've had that same kind of reactor since the fucking 70s. It's a bit too late to worry about that.
>>
>>78177223
Both, he was really good as The Joker but he was overhyped to shit after he died. If he didn't die, he wouldn't win an Oscar for his work. Its kind of like when Paul Walker died and Fast and Furious 7 was a massive hit, except he was always a shit actor

I like Dark Knight and I don't mind Rises, but I'm honestly still surprised when I see so many people like Batman Begins. I accept the fact that I'm in the minority and maybe I'm wrong, but not only I always found it the weaker of the trilogy, I thought it was a bad boring movie the first time I watched.

Bad CGI effects
Katie Holmes
Lame villains, Murphy acting doesn't fit the tone of the movie, and he goes down like a chump, Neson seems just bored through most of it.

And the whole liquid-gas killer machine at the end of the movieā€¦ why bother with the Fear Toxin, 60% the human body is made of water, you wanna destroy the city, just point that thing at the civilians and watch them explode.
>>
>>78177322

I don't get the hype over Joker.
Ledger's acting was subpar at best, he was a generic evil sociopathic mastermind with zero depth and Harvey Dent was a far better character and a villain.
>>
>>78169069
There was definitely some kind of substance in the mask, the loss of which affected Bane's ability to fight, but I don't remember if they explained what it was specifically.

Batman Begins had promise, it rebooted a dead franchise in a cool way. TDK had ledger, a non-traditional (but interesting and memorable) interpretation of the joker and a good overarching plot. TKDR fell short, I was not a fan of that movie.
>>
>>78167033
This is a well known fact
>>
BB was mediocre, some plot holes but overall not bad.

TDK was literally responsible for all the obsession over capes now in movies. It had good twists, a fantastic performance (even though I hate edgy joker) and while very retarded in other aspects was good enough to get a pass.

TDKR was absolute shit.

Seriously did Nolan run out of money on special effects and sound?

I remember in the theater not seeing muzzle flashes of the guns actions working or the actors even pretending to have felt recoil from shooting the guns, and yeah the people dying and falling feels like their first take.
