Loki's presence in the comics is no longer relevant because the movies have totally altered public perception of Loki forever. And no other version of Loki, no matter how well-written or entertaining, will ever be able to surpass that perception and be relevant again.
MCU Loki did what The Dark Knight did for the Joker and Batman. It's created a very specific outlook on the character, one that was eaten up by casuals and the character will never truly escape from.

"Casting Magic" is the ability to "Tell Lies" directly into the universe, and the more convincing the lies, the more powerful the magic.
Gods are sentient metaphors, that through that express great cosmic power, symbolically.

Honestly this is where MCU Loki shines because it emphasis the reasons the reasons that is Loki's all consuming drive and motivation. It's always been more complex you just have to be able to infer and interpret. MCU Loki > AoA Loki. And honestly Tom is such an enthusiastic actor about the character and really cares that he does a fantastic job with it. The tumblr fangirl reaction and interpretations of Loki have no bearing on Tom's portrayal, but apparently they do on the comic now, or else we wouldn't have gotten AoA which was literally tumblr Loki vs actual Loki.
Slim is written best as the ultimate tactician/father to his men type of guy. Post house of m to before avx was his greatest era.
