What are some stories where Superman loses his powers? Preferably for a significant amount of time, and preferably stories that really explore his state of mind after losing them and whether he can make a difference without them.

I can't help but think if done right, it could be really, really interesting

>HEY SUPERMAN! That baby just blew up the planet.
>>

I think there was a Justice League or JLU episode where that happens and he gets flung into the future.
I could be horribly remember that episode though.

Up, Up and Away
52 has a great scene early on with powerless Clark
The Superman books right now are doing power loss arcs although they vary in quality

and he meets up with vandal savage, the last man on earth? Yea I have seen it and it is great

Was hoping there were some comics
>>

Toymaker shoots him into the future where the sun has turned red
He does alright, tames some wild dog things, works with Savage to recover a Yellow Sun Generator thing and goes back to his own timeand undo the future that is Aku
>>
>>78091612
there was also that episode in S:tas where Lightner blocked the yellow sun radiation from coming to Earth
always thought that premise would be great for a Superman game
>>
Act of God have him depowered throughout the whole comic.

The numbers in which he discovers the Solar Flare attack or whatever it's called, and his recent run with almost no power at all.

>Up, Up and Away

This is the best one I've come across by far.

Geoff Johns also did a pretty great one-off about it in Superman #39.

Truth sucks, don't read it

World's Finest #178

Superman #49

or you can read Reign of the Supermen

actually read all 3, that way you can see how he was presented over the course of a few decades.

I also think the 1988 Ruby Spears Superman cartoon had an episode where he lost his powers, but it's such a rare show I can't find the episode. If you can find a torrent or something watch it, it's really excellent.

what was the name of that arc in Superman/Batman where Clark's powers get transfered to Bruce and he goes nuts with the powers?
>>

Yeah, no.

>Krisis of the Krimson Kryptonite

Oh my.
>>
>>78099750
It spells KOKK
>>
As said, Up Up and Away is by far the best story with this theme.
It's probably in my top five superman stories ever.
Pak's Action Comics has a Superman who's extremely depowered but not totally (can jump high and punch hard, but not fly or anything) and I really loved it

So, with his original powers?
