That's why he's endearing. He doesn't have Anakin or Luke's raw power, nor does he have much training. But in spite of all this shit - he still tries to be a good person in spite of his faults, like a decent person would. And he eventually finds his way.

Nah, overall, it's still an amazing universe, built over decades and with a freeish hand that the nuEU just won't have. I don't buy into canon much either outside religious usage. Far as i am concerned, both EU are as valid as eachother.
