Sold. Time to watch.
I will say, it is pretty. It smells like Flash... but it's pretty. It definitely 'looks' like the movies. Maybe they were just saving money but I'm glad they weren't lazy with it.

I'm watching the first episode/movie of it.
Multiple female lions (Kiara and her friends) are appearing in it and making moaning noises throughout.

Admittedly, I still haven't gotten around to seeing Return of the Roar. But a couple things that bug me from what I've heard and seen:
>Kiara's still a cub and not an adult
Unless they're killing off Kion or he'll move away to start a new pride, this really messes with the timeline since he's nowhere to be seen in Lion King 2. Seems like that could've been easily avoided.
>Simba is against Kion's friends being part of the lion guard
Why is he so against having other animals help? This is the same lion that spent the majority of his life eating bugs while a meerkat and warthog took over taking care of him, I wouldn't think he would still be such a stickler for tradition.

But they must have took Kiara from Lion King 2 since didn't the original end without any specification on what the cub's name or gender was? So that would have only been established in the sequel.

That's a really good constructive meaning of it, I too thought it wasn't THAT awful, I mean it has it flaws, but I think of it as like one of those shows that just happens to see on TV.
And to it's credit, at least it wasn't completely formulaic Flash garbage, it has some really nice backgrounds and impressive animation if you think about it in limitations in ToomBoom, I mean you could argue that ToonBoom can do MUCH much better to even make it traditionally animated, but Canada is going through some tough times with the animation industry so, I'm glad Mercury Filmworks is doing a good job with the budget they kept.
Might not the be the best show they made, and I'm not a Lion King expert, so I don't really know the continuity of the franchise, but it isn't like insulting to children like they're idiots.
So, that's how I feel about The Lion Guard.
