So why did DC pick Cyborg to be a founding member of the Justice League in the new 52? Do they not have a more interesting black character?

But then they would have had 2 people on the team without superpowers and I don't think that's what they want. Unless they gave Mr Terrific superpowers but wouldn't that be against his character?
