I just recently finished scanlating the 3rd volume of this French comic... and I found out that it got cancelled due to low sales, so I thought I'd storytime the complete series here.
I'm pretty bummed about that, because I honestly thought this was the best series coming out in Spirou, yes, I preferred it to Les Nombrils, sorry.
It's a funny, light-hearted series which is basically two buddy-cop time agents trying to put right what's been messed up by some sinister time travellers, one a book-smart but inexperienced young agent and the other a rough, loose cannon Scottish dude stolen from his time.
I've spotted a couple of mistakes in volumes 1 and 2 so I'll probably be redoing them, so please, please point out any mistakes or any suggestions you have, and that goes double for volume 3.
So yeah, messed up that speech bubble there, there's a couple of those, I usually put things in in the first few pages to see how big I want to make the font.
Aaaaand that first bubble there, didn't translate it, christ, how did I release this? And why did nobody tell me it was messed up?
I actually really enjoyed doing these parchment thingies.
Damn it...
The parchment fading time disruption thing is cool too.
Oh, this might please some people, I've finished the translation of Kairos volume 3 (it was super-short), no idea when it would be typeset by.
I really like the cartoony design of the ships they have in the future.
I absolutely love alternate history stories, and the French seem to do an awful lot of them, so that's nice for me.
Are there any US series like this? Guys repairing time?
All these divergences we will never get to see
If you've played Assassin's Creed Unity, you'd probably recognise the original lyrics for Ca Ira.
Ah, the classic 'talking shit about a tough guy who's behind you at a bar' I never realised how many cliches this series uses, but I'm cool with it.
And here begin the buddy-cop antics.
Is anyone reading? It always seems I pick the wrong time for storytimes.
Classic training montage.
I loved this series, the art was so cartoony, but also so real and detailed. Apparently the artist did a lot of research, book 3 is about Pearl Harbour, and he seems to have got in touch with so, so many people to get things right.
The Catomeleons are so cute too.
This is one of the coolest timeline shifting scenes I've seen.
Remember a certain reporter who always wore golf trousers?
>You will never get off your face and sing Irish folk songs with ancient peoples
Bumping to read
Love the effect in the third panel here
Oooo, manipulators are freaky.
All that potential for morally grey choices, lost.
The French title of this is a reference to Saving Private Ryan, but I can't really make it obvious in English.
Such a cool looking plane.
The other left, classic.
Bit of an oblique reference for non French, but there's a metro station called Château Rouge.
WWII carriers look dope
>Das Reboot
That callback
I need to change that 'ALERTE'

Does anyone know enough history to say if this actually happened?
YES, THEY DID IT, THEY... torpedoed the California, killing around 100 people and wounding about 50... Should I be celebrating that?
It's interesting to think what terrible consequences 'improving' history might have. Kill Hitler, people are still cool with genocide and ethnic cleansing. Or no rocketry and all the associated tech from the space program, or maybe a lot shittier medicine. Who knows.
All this awesome art, in a kids' comic, which is cancelled. Well, I just hope the artist goes on to work on something just as awesome.
Well, I hope someone reads this and likes it as much as I did.
