Are there any stories that actually deal with the potential ramifications of going back in time to kill baby Hitler? I know I've seen ones where people are all "You could go back in time and kill Hitler, but who knows what would happen then?!", but I don't think I've seen any where they actually do it.

Which is not what I said.
First, because capitalism was developed naturally, as an extension from the previous systens, while socialisn/comunisn has been always forced by a charismatic leader manipulating the masses. Second, because there are people in determined time periods that were fundamental to the popularization of comunisn/socialisn. I am not saying that by killing one people these ideas would never exist, but by killing the right people, the system would be nowhere as popular as it became, and maybe could even be as laughable as anarchism is today.
