In the late 1990s, artist/painter Alex Ross took a stab at redesigning the costume of Barbara Gordon AKA the classic Batgirl. Ross was working on a new Batgirl proposal with Paul Dini, who has been one of the showrunners behind many of DC’s animated series and films, including the famous Batman: The Animated Series. Dini and Ross proposed a story that restored Barbara Gordon to her role of Batgirl, which she had left behind in the late 1980s due to an injury that rendered her a paraplegic. Barbara Gordon would regain her ability to walk and would sport an updated costume, one darker and more in keeping with the moody atmosphere of Batman’s stories. The new costume greatly resembled the Bat uniform featured in the cartoon Batman Beyond, which began airing in 1999 and of which Paul Dini was a producer.
DC Comics decided not to go with the proposal. Since losing her ability to walk, Barbara Gordon had dealt with her disability and now operated as a character called Oracle, aiding not only Gotham heroes and the Justice League, but also acting as coordinator for the heroes known as the Birds of Prey. DC felt that having such a strong, disabled character in their fictional universe outweighed the chance to see her become a costumed vigilante again. A new Batgirl would be introduced in 1999 with a distinctly different outfit.

It's better than her original Spider-Man mask, but I can't help but feel like the half-mask is more fitting for Cass and now they probably won't give her one because it'd be too similar to Steph's look. Steph just needs a standard domino mask or something since she's so chatty.
I'd like to say The Batgirl of Burnside is my favorite version of Batgirl, but until i know what this "Massive change in status quo for Barbara Gordon" is supposed to be that Brenden Fletcher has been saying will happen in #50 next year, i'm not really sure what to think about the book at the moment.
Th way things are now is what i would consider the best version of Batgirl, but if that big status quo change is going to be something really retarded, i'm just not sure.
These last few issues have been all about tech and Barbara's mind, so i wouldn't be surprised if they're just doing some retarded backflipping bullshit to make her Oracle again.

There are dozens of clones of her running around, she was outfought by a former Robin, and I'm just waiting for the mind control serum so we have a hat trick of bad Beechen ideas reused. David Cain is has been given the same less-than-dignified treatment they gave Shiva, ie. turned into an "eXXXtreme" jobber with none of the qualities that made him originally cool.

Everybody is weirded out by how Hitman (Tommy Monaghan) turns into a complete gentleman whenever Cass in anywhere nearer than three blocks- then somebody asks and he explains what David Cain did to him when he discovered he could see through clothes and what he was threatened with if he even ever just though about thinking at looking at Cass the wrong way.

It's kind of funny, when I first started reading comics, I started from the very beginning going from golden age to the modern age. So even though I was born during the Wally era, I had gotten to know Barry as the Flash (And for a very short while before, also Jay) and having read Teen Titans from the beginning, Wally was always Kid Flash to me. I mean, it was pretty cool when he took over the Flash mantle along with reading all the other Titans growing up.
I guess what I'm trying to say is I really love Wolfman and Perez's Teen Titans.
