Good rotoscoping takes rotoscoped elements and seamlessly integrates them into a larger animated performance. Bad\cheap rotoscoping is basically tracing over an entire live-action performance. One takes talent and the other is the result of hackery

Bakshi rotoscoped when he didn't have the cash to use animators he trusted and had to use green ones. that's why it looks like ass, in his case, at least. he didn't have cash for better.
