Not gonna lie guys, this last episode was terrible. the fight with flynt and Neon vs Yang and Weiss was god awful. Someone made the point last time that they like it more and less in certain aspects post-monty.
Their point was that Monty's work was too fast but it looked nice and flashy and was smooth but that post is much slower allowing for us to see what's going on.
This fight was the worst shit I had ever seen and on top of the Deus Ex Machina win for Yang I'm tempted to just drop it. But I kind of want to see the end and if it gets better.

The level of combat competence on display by characters is all over the place. Compare the trailers (which take place before the series) to the fights in Season 3. Trailer-Yang would beat the ever-loving shit out of Season3-Yang. The same goes for Ruby and Weiss, too. I can't get invested in fights if the logic that determines what characters are capable of is just 'whatever the scene requires'.
Why wasn't Flint getting pushed back, or even looking pressured by his trumpet? I have to assume that basic physics like Newton's Laws are the same, or else this universe is going to be fucked up the ass. He is blowing air so hard that Yang, who can shoot herself forward with sufficient speed to shatter a concrete floor, cannot fly into him. Why is he not having to shoot guns to keep himself stable?
Also, anyone remember when Ruby ran so fast she lifted like 4 tonnes of metal and three competent fighters off the ground in a tornado and threw them so hard against the wall that the impact shattered the thick stonework? Apparently Miles and Kerry don't because Jesus fucking Christ, in a tournament where ring-outs are losses, why isn't Ruby winning every single fight ever?
Why doesn't anyone work together? I feel like if Weiss and Yang had stopped to think for like 4 seconds they could have liquefied Flint. Weiss lets Yang shoot ice bullets at Flint. Weiss uses glyphs to speed Yang up while she shoots herself forward. Yang punches the black right off of Flint, then they both just team up and kill the utterly ineffectual Jet Grind Radio lady.

Perfectly fine with me, I think that's enough interest. I'm just in the middle of typing up the "rules" of the game into a pastebin. The characters make things weird though so I had to separate them by tiers of who'd be easy/hard to work with.

Not really much money going through my mind at the moment. I probably will later and thus will need to do some catching up, but right now I'm focusing more on demand curves. Working on a replication of a study on defense of consumption and fitting demand to a model some researchers developed. It's smaller numbers where the prices don't matter so much as the choice behaviors. Wish I had taken some finance classes though. I fly by the seat of my pants too much.

Im moving into finance/management, I can tell you that finance is easy enough to pick up as long as you understand why things are happening. I tried a bit of economics and I liked it but Im not sure if it for me, a little to much social science for me.

Social science can definitely be off-putting to some, but it's good work for the people that enjoy it. I gravitated to behavior-based stuff because it's the relevance of sociology with less fluff in my opinion, and then economics brings the social spice. Glad to hear I can pick up finance. It seems damn useful no matter what you're doing really. I'd mostly want to work with human capital-type stuff since I love networking, but there's always money in...money. I'm just glad these days that more people are recognizing the relevance and importance of sociology/psychology/behaviorism (I'm way too much of a Skinner fanboy) in the workplace and the marketplace.
