Wally West had one of the longest runs of continued, good development under multiple creative teams when he became the Flash following Barry's "death".
Stargirl when she first becomes a superhero in Johns' Stars and STRIPES series is a VERY different character from late in Johns' JSA run, and it's really cool to see her go from a bratty little shit into a mature, composed superheroine that goes on to mentor other young heroes in the JSA.
