Keep reading. She'sa person named Gwen Poole from an alternate universe where Marvel Comics are published. She got stuck in 616, so is now using her meta-knowledge gained from reading a bunch of Marvel comics to be a "super-hero." Not because she likes heroics but because she knows anyone that doesn't wear a costume is doomed to just be background cannon fodder to get killed off in super-villain attacks and events.

Nah. The bigger flaw is that if she gets popular enough then things are going to go very wrong for her. Above Z lister and she's heading straight to Avengers Arena tier problems. Stick to Z lister and she faces the problem of being offed casually BUT if she's remembered enough while being Z-lister she gains effective immortality since the writers will forget she's dead.
She's either got to be a Z-lister with a cult following or reach at least C-list because otherwise her plan falls to shit.
