>starts off as a story about Tony making his suit more family-friendly
>ends with an extraterrestrial plot to take over humanity by creating a robot caveman with hypnotic powers
Well, that was a wild ride from start to finish.

Plent of issues of that era do that, specially when it starts having plotlines, so you get the end of a story and then the beggining of other one in the same issue.
I'm reading that era now and there's an issue that ends an arc where Happy turns into a monster and starts another one where Tony is transported to China to fight the Mandarin, and the only thing in between is another plotline about a Senator wanting Tony to give the Iron Man armor to the government.
So yeah.

Sixties Tony was a legit mad scientist.
I mean shit, look at him imagining a city destroying death ray, inexplicably placed on the front of a civillian aircraft.
gargantus was pretty neat until he became a robot alien weapon.
comics needs more super strong flying cavemen with hypnotic vision

Has anyone ever kidnapped Tony, made him build a doomsday weapon and completely stymie him by actually watching him while he does it?
