Well that's a good fight.
Why don't we get more fights like this instead of the usual "cool posture show off" we get?
Do people really like the cool posture show off fights ? I've grown used to them, but I can't say if I've ever liked them.
Because comic book artists don't know how to draw action. They need to learn from manga.
Not even a weeb, I haven't read an ongoing manga in years, but they really need to learn how the nips do it.
>>77818427
>Learn from Mangos
Yeah all the over use of speed lines and white space to cheaply make low detailed fight scenes, that's how Naruto got through it.
Or you have something like HunterxHunter where they throw so much detail in that it becomes a giant incomprehensible mess.
They need to learn from Manga in the same way Bendis needs to be writing for more characters.
>They don't.
>>77818464
Ok
>>77818393
...what? This entire fucking comic series is full of cool posture show off.
>>77818393
That's not a good fight at all.
>>77818427
Its not the artists fault. Capeshit writers ironically don't write to facilitate action. It's more about drama.
Someone post a spread from Amasing Spider-Man where he takes out Mr Negatives henchmen in a restaurant.
>this
>good fight
Bait?
Not trying to advertise or anything, but I remember a similar thread a while back and a guy posted a link to his thesis about making fights with storyboarding for comics. It blew our minds at that time, we never felt so retarded about how simple it is.
Comic creators need to practice something like this and make better fights.
Can't remember the link or the exact name of the thesis online. Does anyone here remember or was there before?

Pretty sure this is it but Its not opening in my browser. I downloaded it onto my phone too. Really good shit.

I may be in minority, but I love those big shiny patterns on movie Spider-Man costumes.

>Massive amounts of speed lines and white space
You could of cherry picked a better example than that.
>>77819238
What's wrong with the speed lines exactly? And what fucking white space the composition is solid.

That's it! Was from the SCAD college.

Can anyone post someone other than Murata?

Sure thing f.a.m
>>77818464
You need to step your game up. Read some One Punch Man
western comics are terrible at fight scenes, always have been. that's why i only read manga like jojo
i only come here for the cartoons
>>77819534
Murata has already been mentioned twice now cuz

I get the impression that manga artists actually enjoy fighting sports and martial arts and have at least a good knowledge of how an actual fights looks like.
While comic artist only know fights from other comics and action movies, at most from wrestling.
Like the pic in the OP. Batman punched downwards? Then why is Twoface falling backwards? And how did he hit him on the cheeck when he had his head lowered and his arms up protecting the sides of his head?
It's a terrible fight made of cool postures.
Can we stop circlejerking over manga and post good Western fights?

I'm not even a weeaboo, I don't read this shit. You might not like manga, the style and whatnot, but compared to cape comics they have WAY better staging and action.

>>77820085
The thing I like about manga is that they pretty much never have reboots. Once a series is done, it's done. They don't have 35 different versions of the same characters and reboot the same story line every 2 months.
>>77820014
Vagabond is excellent, some of the coolest fight scenes ever.
The issue is that the pacing in comics is not the same as the pacing in manga.
In manga a single fight can last like four issues or more.
In comics a single fight has to be reduced to like four pages max.
>>77819983
Punisher MAX was excellent for fight scenes.
Both Barracuda fights are fucking amazing

>>77818393
Agreed, this and the fight between Jokester and BlamJam at the end of endgame were two fantastic fights, but lately I've noticed that many comic fights end... disappointingly, leaving you wanting more, I mean I know how /co/ feels about Jurgens but remember death of superman? remember the damage to the characters? the blood and brutality? Rememer when doomsday slammed Booster gold's head in a car door not because it was the worst thing he could do but because it was fucked and would add to the fight?
Honestly it could very well be just everything being so much more PC nowadays, not wanting to offend and that includes dumb parents who buy their kids comics that are too violent for them then complain,
