How badly do you think Fox execs are kicking themselves for letting the Daredevil rights go back to Marvel?
>>
>>77715902
they are more upset about letting Marvel have more properties rather than get bereaved of one.
>>
They would have fucked it up anyway and never have been able to craft a film of the same caliber the Netflix show has given us

>How badly do you think Fox execs are kicking themselves for letting the Daredevil rights go back to Marvel?

If only we had sank 100 million into it like Fantastic Four!
>>
>>77715902
Bad enough that they'll never give up FF.
>>
If they gave fuck, they'd make more movies and shows with muties.
>>
>>77715902
Not as hard as they are kicking themselves over the 'Fant4stic' fiasco.
>>
>>77716048
This.
>>
>>77716048
Calling it: The deal has already been made - Marvel has the rights, and they are just waiting until after Fant4stic gets a Blu-ray release to announce it.
>>
>>77715902
how much did the daredevil movies make? the netflix series made fuck all, so it's not like they lost potential earnings.
>>
>>77716357
No way.
>>
>>77716400
>the netflix series made fuck all,
wow...

>Fox announces two X-Men TV shows
>Those shows have Marvel producers credited
>Only way that Fox would get an X-Men TV show off the ground is to make a deal with Marvel
>Fox struck out with Fantastic Four three times

It's pretty obvious. Or at a minimum they have the Silver Surfer rights back and that's why Marvel allowed Slott's Silver Surfer to continue onward unlike Fantastic Four.
>>
>>77716486
He's pretending he knows anything about how Netflix works. Don't get baited.
>>
>>77716357
>>77716430
>>77716496

The tv and film divisions of Disney & Fox are incapable of arranging such a deal, this has already been discredited.
>>
>>77716568
That was your headcanon, not real life
>>
>>77716589

No, that was the factual truth, as reported.
>>
>>77716972
It's okay, you can accept your headcanon isn't real now.
>>
>>77715902
Before the rights reverted, Director Joe Carnahan pitched a DareDevil film set during the early 1970's.

Here's the concept trailer

I love what we got, but I still think a '70's set DD would have been pretty cool.
>>
>>77715902
Why would they be?
>>
Fox would like to do an X-Men tv-show, but they're not desperate for it... they can simply produce more X-Men movies and DC shows (like Gotham).
>>

>Fox would like to do an X-Men tv-show, but they're not desperate for it...

Have you been living under a rock? The shows are going ahead.
>>
>>77718268
Gotham's good though.

Yeah its at least Silver Surfer and Galactus, if not the whole IP. Fox has realized the Xmen are big enough for a cinematic universe and that it'll be better for them to play nice.
>>
>>77716048
>>77716026
By appearances they tried to do the same with Daredevil they ended up doing with Fantastic Four: threatening a movie totes for reals unless someone wants to buy those rights back early yo.

This is what happens when someone knows you're bluffing the first time, and you're too stupid to let go the second time.
>>
>>77716357
I'm not even convinced it will get a BluRay. FOX has been leading the way in digital distribution - it has higher server costs, but you don't generate the same ill-will with retailers when they can't shift the crap you pushed on them, leaving them free to become coffee shops that also offer wifi-exclusive download and signup deals to people who no longer want to spend $40 on a shitty foilcover case with extra features they'll never watch and pixel-perfect 1080p movies they'll probably watch once or twice and get sick of.

In theory they might make more through digital on a low-demand release than they could through a trad media release.

We need more period piece superhero films. I was disappointed when the X-Men prequels abandoned the 60s setting so quickly
>>
>>77718711
Allegedly they're making a Fox Ultra HD Blu-ray of Fant4stic.

The 2nd season is better. The first was shit.
>>
>muh favorite corporation
21st century America, everybody.
>>
>>77719573
Second half of season 1 was pretty enjoyable if you ignore Fish Mooney's bizarre adventures.
>>
>>77718572

WHY PEOPLE KEEP POSTING THIS LITERAL NECKBEARD?
>>
>>77718843
Well they abandoned the 60s and we then got the 70s and now 80s so it's not that bad.
>>
>>77720359
Why are you so new?

Not at all. The latest FF disaster taught them that shitting out a half assed movie just to keep rights away from Marvel will bite them in the ass more than help them.

If anything I think they'll let Marvel have FF back.
>>
>>77718094
That could have been really great.

It's nice to know that we were going to get something good with Daredevil either way.
>>
>>77718711
I kinda really hope it gets a blue ray just for that reason.
>>
>>77718094
I am still waiting for a film noir styled Question movie.
>>
>>77715902
Probably not much. The success of the TV show doesn't have that much to do with the IP itself.
>>
>>77721131
That's... actually a very good point. I spent a hot minute trying to think of a rebuttal but couldn't.
>>
>>77719253
UP
>>
>>77715902
Not at all as long as theres still... Cocaine everything will be great for fucking little boys.
>>
>>77721234
>>77721131
it's not on television tho. it's on netflix. people won't choose to watch it if they didn't care somewhat.
>>
>>77715902
Can Marvel just PLEASE buy the mutantverse rights back so we can have mutants in the comics again?
>>
>>77721662
That was not their point.
Anon meant that we know what happens when Fox tries to adapt DD - the 2000's movie happened.

Daredevil was succesful because it was a good series "lifting" the franchise, not the other way around. Big franchises like Batman or Superman can make movies succesful, but DD is too obscure for that.

Netflix Daredevil was succesful because it was good series, NOT because it was Daredevil.
>>
>>77721962
ah, gotcha.
>>
>>77721662
They wouldn't watch if it had a reputation of being shit. People didn't turn up because they thought "hey it's that guy from that shitty movie" (which was basically the mainstream image of DD).
