So Many Birthdays
It was pretty funny but also really sad without feeling forced, the change of pace was gradual. I liked seeing how the gems were trying to understand celebrating birthdays and Steven tried so hard to give them nice birthdays. And the end where he almost died and they worried and cared for him so much just pulled on my heart strings.

It hooked me with the visuals, and the way it sort of dropped you in the middle of this centuries long story, with everyone lamenting the lack of this one really important person. But you can only look at things like Steven, who doesn't know anything, and is so eager to help and solve the problem, both because he's a child, but also because he's never known Rose.
Catch and Release, because it sets upthe Peridemption.

Any episode that takes place in the past. Both We Need to Talk and Story for Steven are pretty entertaining.

Yeeeah, no. Maybe good in the sense that Legend of Korra is still watchable despite the original series being better in every way. All that charm though that was that first half just disappeared. The mysteries became blunt exposition, the sparring use of feels became a crutch they tried to force in whenever possible, and worse yet the fun episodes like Tiger Millionaire just disappeared all together. Even the music started to become lazy and recycled. Now I hardly even notice when the music kicks in, if at all.

Kind of a tie between Rose's Scabbard and Maximum Capacity, mostly because I like watching Pearl and Amethyst have emotional breakdowns and fight for the position of worst piece of shit on the team.
We Need to Talk deserves honorable mention because it's one of the few times in fiction that I can think of where a guy falls in love with an alien and they actually acknowledge the fuck ton of cultural and biological differences they have to overcome to make that relationship work.

I fucking love We Need to Talk. Best song besides Stronger than You (What Can I Do For You?), amazing BGM (Theme from an Endless Romance is my all-time favorite song from this show), and amazing and heartfelt story. The dialogue was at its best, plus the animation for that episode was just great. Easily my favorite episode of the series.
Also, Garnet being based as always is always a major plus.

I like the characters themselves and how they act in each episode, something that can't really be reflected in picking a single one. They're all part of over-arching storylines, even the earliest episodes, to an extent.
You watch Back to the Barn, learn Pearls are basically accessories, and appreciate all the times Pearl has clung to Garnet's arm. You don't pick a single episode where she did so, like in An Indirect Kiss or at the end of Jailbreak.
You watch Back to the Barn and you see Pearl's development from "I'm just a Pearl," to "That's right! I am a Pearl!" Instead of choosing Friend Ship and Back to the Barn as your favorites you love the growth shown in the episodes between the two.
There's no way to pick a single episode based on that, even out of ones heavy in character development milestones or character establishment.That being said, you can pick an episode based on something like aesthetics or music, but that's conparitively shallow.

I mean people may have enjoyed other episodes more, and that's acceptable because everyone haves diferent tastes
But this is definitively one of the top 5 episodes of Steven Universe,along with Sworn to the Sword, Jailbreak and Space Race probably it was so well written and one of the best looking ones, drawn so well, animated smoothly, the ilumination complemented the scenes like pic related in the best way possible and the shots were great for each scene.
