Let me put it to you clearly. She started CRYING in the middle of a film because Archie was looking away and being silent and then RAN AWAY.
Then, Archie followed, cause he cares, and says something stupid, like teenagers do. We've all been teenagers, we've spouted some shit we didn't want to say. He then tries to fix it saying "That's not what I meant" but gets interrupted by Betty FLINGING HER PURSE AT HIM and shouting "What's wrong with me?" although he said "I'm weird? Look at you!", once again showing teenage stupidity. Finally, when Archie says that the stuff she's wearing "Doesn't belong on her" (which is true, she admits this in all the other pages of this issue), she SMEARS HIM WITH LIPSTICK, says "You're still you" but instead of being the better person and showing that even though he has something different on, she still loves him, she RUNS AWAY AGAIN.
Both are stupid teenagers, yes, but Betty is the stupidest of the two.

Archie's upset because the familiar Betty he's always known is changing, and he's upset because he isn't sure if he's upset because she isn't being true to herself or because he can't handle her changing, and he's upset because Betty's always been his bro and he's just getting used to the idea of her being someone he can cuddle and smooch with and isn't ready for HELLO BONER reactions to her.

Not going to lie, this comic was straight up horrible. Contrived, needlessly dramatic, and overall stupidity all around. They hyped this moment up to hell and back, and in the end it was nothing more than overblown nonsense. The worst part is, I was actually thoroughly interested in this series. I gave it a chance and thought it wasn't that bad. I was actually liking it up until this issue; now I lost interest altogether.
