She beat a couple of really strong characters off-screen as a joke. This idea stuck with the readers and now it became a thing where she's unstoppable as long as its off-screen.
Kinda like how Deadpool and Harley had actual personalities back then but the lolwackyrandumbXDDD part was what resonated with the readers the most and now thats all they ever are
