Best Era for DC was hands down the 90s
for every crap book like extreme justice you had a morrison jla or a waid flash, not to mention Vertigo and the whole slew of other great books like Starman and Spectre. Doug Moench's Batman was good too.
Almost forgot Hitman too

80s was the best decade for DC especially the latter half of the decade.
80s was the best decade for Marvel as well even though the 60s was more consistent.
80s was also the best for indies.

I can't say I've read much of old marvel except for some books like Miller's Daredevil, Moench Moon Knight and Shang-Chi
currently making my way through the jack kirby black panther. any other recs for old school marvel?
>>77581707
If you want to stick to the 80s, there's Byrne's Fantastic Four and Peter David's Hulk (which started in the 80s and ended in the 90s) plus Silver Surfer Requiem, just to name a few.
ROM Spaceknight is also worth reading if you don't take it too seriously. Same goes for Micronauts to a lesser extent.
Marvel's G.I. Joe was also spectacular.
And if you got back to the 70s there was Howard the Duck, Man-Thing, and Conan.

Also, if you want something straight up ridiculous but fun then read US 1.
>>77581919
Oh, and they were publishing Groo and Alien Legion at the time plus some other interesting minis under the Epic Comics imprint.
>>77581662
Nah. Marvel was better in the 70s.
>>77581707
If you're reading Kirby Panther now you have to read McGregor Panther. Probably the best run the character has had. Gerber's Man-Thing is another favorite of mine.
>>77581568
Reminder that the league used to be great.
>>77582199
johns league is shaping itself to be the next great run. JL Lex from issue 30 to present has been pretty character-focused and the arcs have decent written villains and scenes now
>>77581898
>Silver Surfer Requiem
That came out in 2007, what are you smoking
>>77581662
bronze age best age
>>77582475
>>77581898
Fuck, I meant Parable.
>>77582371
>JL Lex from issue 30 to present has been pretty character-focused
And that's not a good thing, that works on the JSA, not on the league, and the current event has been mediocre
>>77581568
Young Justice, Spectre, Starman, Flash, Aquaman, JLA, Martian Manhunter, countless other series I am not thinking about right now.
Good times, man.
>>77581568
>Best Era for DC was hands down the mid-to-late 90s through 2003 before the weirdness
FTFY
Considering the name, Extreme Justice wasn't even that bad. The only problems it had were Captain Atom having a ridiculous mullet and banging Maxima and Booster trying to be cool with his new armor.
>>77584026
You mean before Didio.
>>77581568
>>77582199
I miss the mullet
90s didn't have gotham central
also how come the brubaker/rucka batman run is never talked about here? it's so good
>>77584390
The only Batman writers that matter on /co/ are Frank Miller, Grant Morrison, and Scott Snyder
>>77584390
The Brubaker/Rucka era was kind of mediocre, and Bruce Wayne: Murderer?/Fugitive was pretty awful.
>only 90's kids will get this Earth
>>77584617
>Chris Kent
>Damien from #666
>Based Wally
>Based Kyle saying the wrong Major
>Based Connor
>Based Conner
>>77584617
Was Connor not in The Just? I can't remember.
>>77581568
What was wrong with extreme justice? I liked it
>>77584818
yeah he was
>>77584864
Uh...
>>77585576
The art may be strange but the content wasn't honestly that Extreme. The worst was just Booster complaining and not in the funny way.

Posting best page from that run.
>>77584492
>Scott Snyder
Awful n52 run.
But black mirror was pretty good
>>77582371
Amazo Virus was mostly garbage. The Trinity has always been the most boring part of the JL.
