Same, but secondhand information I've been able to glean is that the Minions end up being some sort of immortal army that flocks to every major leader throughout history. I guess there was a bit with them and Napoleon, this one has them and Queen Liz, and probably a whole bunch otherssans anyone from Germany of courseuntil they meet Gru. Thats just what I've gathered anyway, I might be completely wrong.

About half right. They stop at around Napoleon and go fuck off till 1970s or so in the North Pole, then try looking for a new Warboss. Three of them go off and find a secret villain con and get hired by one of the biggest villains there, then get tasked to steal the Queen's crown. Hijinxs occur, and one of them accidentally pulls the stone out of the sword and becomes England's new king.
Turns out what's-her-face wanted to be the big boss and gain the notoriety, and now wants them dead. Eventually they get split up, and one of them enters a bar and finds Queenie there. Yadda yadda yadda, they retake the crown from what's-her-face, have a ceremony and become heroes, before it's re-stolen by kid Gru and then they follow him so he can be the new boss.
