I finished my scanlation editing for tonight and this thread caught my eye, I was wondering when Ladybug would be out. I remembered seeing the English opening once but I couldn't remember what it was like, so I thought I'd try and convert the French song to English and see how close I got to the official version for a bit of fun. Turns out, they changed most everything completely, though that's understandable. I think I like the official version a little better than mine, it seems to flow more cohesively as a song (even though my translation of the French is very close to literal). What do people think? It just about follows the rhyme scheme and meter of the French song exactly, so you can try singing it in your head.

Somewhat. What we got wasn't what we expected. The only good thing about the current show is the fanservice and the somewhat good, if out of focus at times, romance between the main characters that is complicated by their penchant for living double lives. The action isn't all that good to be honest, and the quality of the villain of the week is very hit or miss. Usually miss. Hawk Moth is incredibly forgettable and his ridiculous outfit ruins whatever menace the character may have possessed otherwise. The animation and action is inconsistent, good for a few scenes but somewhat rubbish, or at least milquetoast, otherwise. 3D animation still has some kinks in it I'm afraid. That said, the supporting characters are beginning to shine, if somewhat belatedly and only briefly.
In short, the show has its good points, but it also has a lot of flaws and is geared towards a somewhat younger audience than those of us here would care for. Those flaws, as well as the fact that there will always be other catboys in other franchises, has caused the hype to die down somewhat. The move to 3d only made that trend move somewhat quicker.
Last weekend was a pretty rough time for French superheroes.
I hate to beat a dead horse, but does anyone else's opinion of the show keep sinking like a rock despite the fact that the episodes aren't that bad? The show isn't worse than mediocre, but as it goes on and we get more and more episodes it seems like they've managed to surgically excise anything of interest in the PV even beyond "muh 2D"; the entire production feels like it's been simultaneously flanderized and bubble-wrapped from the top down.

Only French eps 1, 7, 10, and 11 have subtitle files. If you don't see them in the mega, try going into the French folder and sorting by "type" to find them. They're the .srt files. Episode 2 has subs but only hardsubbed.
The rest of the episodes haven't been subbed from French yet. You can watch them in Korean, but watch out for the different episode numbers.

It could just be a strange coincidence, Nathanael imagines Lady as being the girl he likes. Their covers may have a similar art style, but that seems to be the only real similarity between the two. And it's not implied they are the same; Nathanael's comics uses the final design used in the actual show, whereas these concept comics feature a very early and very, very different design for Ladybug.

Actually the picture drawn by Nathanael was one of the comics. The design currently used by the show is actually one of the earlier comic book covers he created. The only difference is the title, lack of guns and the smile.
