How would you handle a Transmetropolitan screen adaptation?
When he enters the city, the election is already well underway.
First third of the movie focuses on that transalien shit from the beginning.
Second third of the movie focuses on Spider finding out that one chick died and he tries to uncover the scandal behind that through the election.
The final act is that last arc after the election candidate asshole wins, with the student riots and shit calling back to the first act with the transaliens, and Spider uncovers the conspiracy by doing that hardcore LIVE BLOGGING and you know all the shit that happens in the last few books.
Yeah you'll have to cut out all the good extra bits like the cultural domes and the child prostitutes and maybe you can have a jokey segment involving ordering shit through the TV but them's the breaks.

It can be as easy as trolling hookup sites in surrounding areas, my uncle was a PI and he says 99.9% of the time it was as simple as that. Most people aren't that sneaky and the people who are suspicious don't want to look themselves.
I honestly don't think I can be done. Half of what makes Transmet great is the writing, and it's the kind of writing that doesn't translate well to screen.
i would hire a bald actor who looks reasonably cool in the mismatched glasses
i would hire a strong supporting cast roughly corresponding to the personalities and looks of the characters in the comic
i would distribute iconic images from the comic to the prop/set design/vfx departments
i would break the overall comic series down into two to three main plot arcs
i would film two to three films corresponding with the two to three plot arcs derived from the comic

Personally, I wouldn't. I kind of lean towards not wanting to see comics I love adapted.
